HCC1 7.13 Computational Error

HCC1 GPU units were working just fine, checked last evening. Now this morning all of the GPU work units showing Computational Error, all stopping at 4 seconds. Running 7.0.31 with Mac OSX 10.8.3 on ATI HD 5770.

Showing this error

Re: HCC1 7.13 Computational Error

Your system has somehow slowed down to fail the mini performance test at start of the GPU tasks. If you visit the Result Log on the Result Status page you will find the same warning "Kernel Time Exceeded... 3.68... Research what changed... e.g. clockdown due to excessive heat or a (rouge) process that is keeping your GPGPU busy... .Do not run a screensaver with moving parts for instance. Best is a blank one.

Re: HCC1 7.13 Computational Error

I have my screen saver set to run for only 1 minute and was not running during the time of all the errors.

Just checked the Console log and found a bunch of these errors during that time

3/23/13 10:33:10.364 PM mdworker[80496]: zip importer encountered an error (3) scanning "/Library/Application Support/BOINC Data/slots/1/X0930133041325201203211134.zip".

Am going to restart computer and see if the new GPU units I just received work.

Re: HCC1 7.13 Computational Error

If you insist on running a screensaver for 1 minutes, then blank, you have to set the GPU crunch delay to 2 minutes to avoid conflicts, plus whatever delay fro the screensaver to start.

Edit: So lets do the sums in an example:

1) You've set the screensaver to start after 5 minutes
2) To stop/blank the screensaver after another minute

Then the GPU computing should not start earlier than 5+1+1 = 7 minutes delay.

Re: HCC1 7.13 Computational Error

Everything is back to normal now after restart yesterday. The only thing I can figure is that I had my iPad plugged into the usb port recharging the night when the trouble happened and that somehow was the cause. Had been running fine with the setup I described and is again.
Thanks for the help.
