I recently purchased 2x Powercolor ATI HD5770 cards to run in crossfire on one of my rigs. I installed the first one, started the system, grabbed the latest driver/Vision engine control pack from AMD installed it and rebooted. After the reboot BOINC picked up some HCC GPU tasks for the new card which appeared to process normally, completed and then returned some wu's with no problem. I then powered off, installed the 2nd card + bridge, booted up and enabled crossfire in AMD Vision Engine control.
----------------------------------------Since installing the 2nd card none of the HCC GPU tasks have run successfully. Any ideas/suggestions much appreciated. You told us right in the first para twice what's potentially wrong... the bridging. FAIK SLI/Crossfire needs to be disabled to get 2 cards to crunch proper.
Your bootlog also does not show the per-card OpenCL 1.1 required enabling line, so that is the sure first, if not second reason. Try and succeed ;>) |

Suspect this may be a stupid question (so apologies in advance) but can I disable crossfire mode via the Vision Engine suite or do I need to remove the crossfire bridge as well? Your bootlog also does not show the per-card OpenCL 1.1 required enabling line Second stupid question, is there something I need to do to enable this? Many thanks Oliver |

On how to disable crossfire... pass. Can't remember a post on the forums on the 'how to'. The OpenCL for ATI is often simply loaded by installing the applicable AMD APP SDKv package http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx . Some members noted that when installing ATI drivers via the CCC, there's an option... seek forums.
Sample lines as posted by falconet of how proper GPU identification lists in message/event log using catalyst 12.4: 13-05-2012 11:18:17 | | ATI GPU 0: Cedar (CAL version 1.4.1664, 1024MB, 986MB available, 262 GFLOPS peak) 13-05-2012 11:18:17 | | OpenCL: ATI GPU 0: Cedar (driver version CAL 1.4.1664, device version OpenCL 1.1 AMD-APP (831.4), 1024MB, 986MB available) I'd first get the OpenCL in place and recognized. You might get lucky. |

Try and succeed ;>) You need Xfire if nothing is plugged into the second GPU. |
