Heyas,
Are there any guides to optimize GPU usage? On my machines, it seems the GPU is only in use 30-70% of the time (depending on ratio of GPU to CPU performance). Is there a way to keep the GPU closer to 100% in use. I don't mind if need to sacrifice additional CPU cycles to achieve this. -- Craig |

What card are you using? Adding more wu's to crunch with it will add more to the load provided its strong enough. If thats all your gpu is showing for the load, looks like you have plenty of power to spare.

Also, anyone experimented with different driver versions and saw some speedups?

After aborting all the WUs, stopping boinc, creating app_info.xml and starting boinc again, I received the following message in the event log.
----------------------------------------This project doesn't support computers of type anonymous I took a deep look on various forums without finding a solution. I would appreciate any help ! Yves |

After aborting all the WUs, stopping boinc, creating app_info.xml and starting boinc again, I received the following message in the event log. This project doesn't support computers of type anonymous I took a deep look on various forums without finding a solution. I would appreciate any help ! Yves Which card are you using? I crunch only gpu to insure no issues and it works great. When I tried doing GPU and another project, nothing but issues. If your using an AMD card, I can post what I am working with. Let me know.

Hi Bearcat,
----------------------------------------I start using AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6570 on a Q6600 one week ago. It worked fine last week with simultaneously only one GPU task and 3 CPU tasks. I've tried this morning to increase the number of GPU tasks using app_info.xml. I read several times the tutorial on the Xtreme forum but I am still receiving the above message. Yves |

The combination 1 GPU task - 3 CPU tasks does not require app_info.xml.
----------------------------------------The parameter about GPU is not in client.xml but in app_info.xml. For this reason I created the app_info.xml based on the example provided by http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthrea...09-Working-app_info-files After aborting all the WUs, stopping and restarting boinc, it claims that anonymous platform is not supported. I tried that too and it failed. Thats why I am running just HCC GPU at 8 now. Not sure how powerful that card is by maybe try just 2 GPU wu's and see how that works out. Then bump to 3 if it works good and temps are under control. You will make a heck of allot more points just using the GPU. Slower processors do affect the GPU crunching so you might not want to go above 3 if your card can handle it. I will go find what nano had me use and will post it for you. Be back soon.
