Re: What's Next???

I wonder how these stats are updated, since WCG says it's got 2M..

The 2M is the number of devices that have ever returned a WU, or were signed up and attached to WCG. For instance I have 39 devices listed to me, but only have 10 active devices due retiring some old machines, hard disk deaths, motherboard deaths, etc. I understand WCG keeps the records of these so they have an audit trail of some sort for their results. Hope this helps.
Cheers

Re: What's Next???

My other goal is a days crunching for every day I've been breathing.. hoping to reach that goal sometime in September smile

That's my next goal too. I turned 40 the other day, and currently have 36.5 years' crunching. 15 cores flat out means my crunching days should overtake me in [does calculus in head] - erm - sometime soon, hopefully.

Other goals I have set myself are to get into the top 50 crunchers in the UK, the top 1,500 in the world (both of which I hope to achieve sometime in the first half of next year), and to get the Sapphire 'snurk' signature (sometime in Jan 2013, depending if new projects get added before then).

Literally while I was previewing this post, I noticed the 'snurk' signature now has "top xxx%" - I don't know when that got put in, but I like it. I'm currently top 0.27% by points, so top 0.25% looks like a nice round target to aim for on that.

Lots to do.

Lots to do.

You sure got that right... I keep thinking "When things calm down, I'll get to that new project"... well, things aren't calming down. HFCC has a new life again (target 10 giving it another 146 days) and HCC GPU version looks like it's going to be available pretty soon. I still haven't been able to get to SN2S and GFAM and make a dent in them. So I'm very busy managing my crunching priorities and like alver states "Lots to do".

Crunching for a better tomorrow...

Re: What's Next???

At ALL... I wasn't implying that since I have reached (almost) all sapphire in my projects that I would stop crunching...au contraire... I will just concentrate on several projects that interest me the most...

happy crunching all!

Kev

I too personally have all my projects into Sapphire already, except the Beta one like you, the others are not giving out units right now or any more. I have stopped the CFSW units as it is down to 10 days of units left and some people are still trying to get their badges there, I do not NEED to compete with them, so I moved onto HCC, it has the next fastest finishing units and PLENTY of estimated days left at 773. I am now at 4 years 100 days on it and finishing nearly 330 or more units per day there. I also have my pc's available for any gpu units, or other Beta units, that get sent my way. Oh and I turn 60 years old in December and will probably never get to 60 years of crunching time, but who knows.

Congrats on looking forward to the big 60. It has been recently placed in my rearview mirror. With your crunching power I have no doubts you will make a run for 60 years of crunch time. Hang in there.
Cheers
