What's Next???

all my projects will be sapphire in approx. 13 days with the exception of Beta - do we have any new Beta stuff coming down the pipeline soon? I ONLY need 1 yr & 347 days to go blue there too...lol

summer is winding down here, so my computer room (cellar) will be a bit cooler and I can turn my Cpu's back up to running at 95%

projects, we need more projects

Re: What's Next???

My new personal challenge, how many full years can I keep adding to each project. I'm currently screaming through the HMCD2's to bring that one rapidly towards it's 3 years.

My other goal is a days crunching for every day I've been breathing.. hoping to reach that goal sometime in September smile

Then it will be 2 wink

There's always a challenge, getting a sapphire doesn't mean that the Scientists couldn't still use your contribution.

Supporting these great projects with IBM's support is reward enough

Dave

Re: What's Next???

Sooner or later new badges will hopefully be added. After I completed 2 yrs on each project, I went for 5 yrs. now that's done, going after 10 yrs. New projects will come along. Until then, set yourself a goal and go for it.

It looks like the existing projects have more than enough work to carry us through 2013 without even adding any more. Crunch on.

Cheers

Don't get the correlation on that page, WCG has the 2nd most number of users. confused

Now this page is a bit more telling:

http://boincstats.com/en/stats/15/project/detail

Users 389,636
Active users 80,732 (20.72%)
Hosts 1,567,638
Active hosts 229,709 (14.65%)

Now if can get more "active" users and hosts. biggrin

Each 'active' user has an 'average' of 3 hosts now, of course people like me that have over half a dozen offset a few people with only 1 but still and average of around 3 pc's per person is more than most projects. I think the reason that is is because of the sheer number of projects under WCG, most 'projects' involve one project, while WCG has over half a dozen active projects! Seti has Seti itself and Seti Beta but they are DIFFERENT projects, Einstein has Einstein and Albert but again they are different projects, Rosetta also has a separate Beta project and I am sure there must be more.

Of the Active users count, how many crunch full-time for WCG at the CPU-front? The percentage can't be 100% for a number of those WCG Active users are also crunching for the other grids. The other grids also can't claim 100% of their 'Active users'. There is also the GPU-front which likely muddied the waters even more.

Re: What's Next???

At ALL... I wasn't implying that since I have reached (almost) all sapphire in my projects that I would stop crunching...au contraire... I will just concentrate on several projects that interest me the most...

happy crunching all!
