Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

Looking at the recent progress for this project, we are estimating that the last of the remaining work units will be sent out in about six weeks from now. The improvements in the software have made it possible to get to this point sooner and will let the researchers progress to the next stages of their research. We thank all of our contributing members for making this possible!

Um, someone should let SekeRob know..as of today he has the finish estimate at 302 days from now. Are you sure this is for Computing for Sustainable Water and not Computing for Clean Water, which shows 0 days left?

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

Oh no!!!!! bang goes my attempt at getting all current projects to Emerald.... crying crying crying At least Gold (and probably Ruby) is easily achieveable...

Edit: Yes, I should, just, be able to reach Ruby before the newly announced estimated end date of the project - okay, I've had to abandon my plan of running 2 cores on this and the other 2 on the VINA projects, but, unless there's a hidden announcement in the wings for them, then I'll be able to return to them in due course...

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

Yikes... I'm glad I glanced at the subjects in this forum.
I was down to 4 cores on this, and according to the windows calculator I'll need 7 cores on it to reach sapphire in 35 days (in case work units start getting snapped up by larger caches).

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

On the quick, update [Pi1] is up with a 42 day counter. The projection was left as Viktors was speaking to the scientists [see his prior posts], querying if they wanted higher resolution calculations given the > 4 fold speed up. Apparently not, but know knows, do they learn and send in more batches with different configurations and depth of calculation. For sure all these ''phase 2'' speculations... ain't going to happen. Will run, I'm sure, from the same feeder unless an entirely new science app is needed.

These initial runs will then have taken from April to September... not 6 months.

Shutting down again [to frippin' hot].

P.S. Felt it in my throbbing toe, so been running CFSW exclusively since the 64 bit version went up... need 14 more days [weather climate permitting].

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water project nearing completion

I was running CFSW exclusively (when no SIMAP's available) last weeks, because my crystal ball saw the dryness coming.
As soon as the blue sky is shining over the green hills (forecast within 3 days) I'll withdraw my cores.
