Re: HCC GPU Testing v6.45 (Started June 25, 2012)

Receiving quite a few on a 570, 670 and 2 680's

Don't know if everyone knows this, but just to make everyone aware; suspending GPU tasks has the possibility to make the driver crash, thus causing computation errors.

This happens on many projects that use GPUs, and when I suspended GPUgrid tasks on my 680s in order to allow the BETAs to run this is what happened and they (BETAs) immediately resulted in computation error.

These seems to be running great though across the board. The rig with the 570 is already returning valid results.

EDIT: After I exited EVGA Precision and restarted it back up, everything seems to be working as it should. Which is good smile

I can only assume you're using a 79xx.

This is why I will not be using my NVIDIAs on this project.

And no, kinda hard to test things in 48 sec. lol

EDIT:

Dataman, PCIe 2 or 3? Curious to know how much bandwidth these tasks take up (would assume little) confused

Average WU times between 279-330 seconds with 65-75 seconds CPU time, on ATI Radeon HD 7770 and i7-2600k @ 4.5

All valid so far...

Re: HCC GPU Testing v6.45 (Started June 25, 2012)

Did WCG ever establish if they are sending work to the old 8400GS or 210's? The few systems I have running those old cards continue to say
6/25/2012 10:19:18 AM World Community Grid Message from server: Tasks won't finish in time: BOINC runs 99.9% of the time; computation is enabled 100.0% of that

I know they aren't fast, but they should finish by deadline shouldn't they?

Depends, I guess, of what the table says the performance is of these cards and the deadline.

Might not have enough memory per thread or something along those lines.

Re: HCC GPU Testing v6.45 (Started June 25, 2012)

Here's a weird anomaly:

I am running an 8 thread, 1 gpu machine.

Now I have 9 CFSW units that say they're "running", with GPU Betas "ready to start"

It was running GPU beta's one by one just a while ago...

EDIT: Had to reset the project, but things are back to normal
