Depends, I guess, of what the table says the performance is of these cards and the deadline. --//-- Not sure which table you are speaking of, but I know these cards would not take over 2 days to meet the deadline that is put on my 430. 5pot, maybe you are onto something. These cards are the 512MB versions, but I wouldn't think since they could run most other projects GPU's that they could manage HCC. |

I can only assume you're using a 79xx. This is why I will not be using my NVIDIAs on this project. And no, kinda hard to test things in 48 sec. lol EDIT: Dataman, PCIe 2 or 3? Curious to know how much bandwidth these tasks take up (would assume little) That was on a EVGA GTX570. I turned on the 260's and 460's and they are taking longer of course. They are also battling with some unwanted CPU wu's right now. I don't know how many Betas are in this test so don't know if the CPU jobs will complete to get some GPU only benchmarks. |

Got a handful on my 7970 rig and a bunch on my 2xGTX570 rig - all look good. I didn't experience any lag in the UI on either machine this round.
----------------------------------------Receiving quite a few on a 570, 670 and 2 680's Don't know if everyone knows this, but just to make everyone aware; suspending GPU tasks has the possibility to make the driver crash, thus causing computation errors. This happens on many projects that use GPUs, and when I suspended GPUgrid tasks on my 680s in order to allow the BETAs to run this is what happened and they (BETAs) immediately resulted in computation error. Did this occur with your 570s, or just your 680s? I haven't experienced this issue with my 570s and I've suspended GPUGRID for every HCCGPU beta I've participated in. Could this be a Kepler issue? EDIT: more coming on 7970 now [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 25, 2012 3:51:33 PM] |

It's not a Kepler specific issue. I've had this happen of my 570 as well. It doesn't happen often. From what I've read it occurs due to Windows. It's not like a "real" driver crash.
----------------------------------------I mean it crashes, but its due to Windows thinking it should be running so it stops the driver kernel to "protect itself" (Windows). This also can be affected by which driver you are using. So for instance, I've been getting it more on the 301.42 compared to almost any other driver. It COULD be more related to Kepler, this I do not know. But what I do know is its more related to Windows than anything else (currently using W7 on all rigs). When it does happen with GPUgrid, it doesn't give those computation errors though, never has.\ EDIT: 4 pages of valids backing off the BETAs to get more info from other crunchers for the BETA. On my HD5450 overclocked to 820MHZ(core clock) I got 4. According to BOINC it's 262 Gflops powerful.
----------------------------------------One has completed in 20 minutes wallclock. CPU was 90 seconds. No CPU Cores were made free. System was sluggish. GPU usage was always above 90%. GPU temps went as high as 57 celsius. On idle it's about 53 celsius so no worries(card is passively cooled) The task is currently pending verification. If it's validated, I'm happy! Had 3 errors like this:
Result Name: BETA_ X0000038270033200409250029_ 0-- <core_client_version>6.10.60</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> - exit code 293 (0x125) </message> <stderr_txt> Commandline: projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcg_beta3_img_6.45_windows_intelx86__ati14_opencl X0000038270033200409250029.jp2 ERROR: GPU device not specified. Exiting. 18:28:29 (940): called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> ]]> All errored out simultaneously after hitting update. Strangely, only 7/8 cpu threads were running after the errors occured (usually its 8/8 + ati beta). After the last beta finished, all 8 threads were running again. Machine runs BoincTasks. Not getting any more Betas, either they're gone, or the graphics card somehow went "not specified" (see log). Valids looking good. Last time not one single tasks was 'valid', this time: 6 valid, 3 pending validation, 0 pend. verif., 3 errors. Btw. the highly overestimated beta ETAs caused my DDDT2 cache to be dangerously underestimated. 6 days cache = 2.5 days ETA ;) |

All gone? Can I release my GPU's back to other projects now? No errors here on Nvidiia.

34 Valid, 3 error.

Just processed a number of Beta test GPU HCC tasks on my HD6790 with from 55% - 95% GPU utilization, temp = 62C, one task running alone until completion. Used 0.203 CPU with 1 ATI GPU. Elapsed time about 5m per task. Received no tasks for my HD 6570…

I just saw the GPU Beta announcement.
Are they already finished ? I got Zero. |
