Re: Beta test for Computing for Sustainable Water 64 bit (June 13, 2012) Issues Thread

The inital ETA was a bit off--6hrs. Now at 60+% after 25 minutes. ETA is steadily dropping.

I haven't run any normal CFSW on this machine lately, but these appear to be screaming.

edit: I just went back and checked some old WU stats and the previous times were around 2.8 hours. These look like they're providing quite a speed improvement.

Cant remember if this is also the case for C4CW... if the 64 bit version needs more memory, but would not surprise me in the least.

Maybe you missed the 4x speed up from the previous test on CFSW, which was moved to production sometime last week.

Re: Beta test for Computing for Sustainable Water 64 bit (June 13, 2012) Issues Thread

I assume only 64-bit machines (running a 64-bit Windows or Linux) are qualified to download the betas. Is that a correct assumption?

Re: Beta test for Computing for Sustainable Water 64 bit (June 13, 2012) Issues Thread

Please note that we have seen increases in runtime by 15% over the 32 bit version.

I'm seeing a decrease in runtime over the 6.11 CFSW.

Both these ran on the same machine - Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

Re: Beta test for Computing for Sustainable Water 64 bit (June 13, 2012) Issues Thread

My first 64-bit workunit has completed in 0.65hr CPU time, which is 90% of the 0.72hr taken by the 32 bit version on the same machine (i5-750 Win7 64-bit).

Incorrect:
We are starting a new beta test which is going to test the 64 bit version of the application. We are going to send out 5,000 work units which will go out to both the 64 bit and 32 bit version. 64bit version of CFSW will show up as version 6.12 for the Beta.

We are sending both 32 bit and 64 bit. This means that all machines are able to download.

Thanks,
