There are two parameters in the BOINC preferences that I'm not sure how to set. They are Minimum work buffer and Max additional work buffer. The Max parameter affects the number of WU added to the queue. Should this value always equal the cache size in the Default?
----------------------------------------What are the guidelines and suggestions for setting the Min parameter? ![]() |

The whole old Connect / Add.Buff versus new Min / Max and how it works is discussed in a draft FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,32530
WCG defaults are I think 0.2 and 0.25 respectively http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=17033#177091 What the best is beyond default?... Everyone has to decide for themselves on hours crunched daily [BOINC corrects cached work volume for that automatically, over a longer time], network conditions, home / office, ISP reliability etc. --//-- |

What the best is beyond default? The optimal atleast then it comes to number of connections would be "additional..." of 1 day, since this should normally give 1-2 connections to scheduler-server per day, assuming scheduling-server manages to give you 1 day of work in a single request that is. ![]() "I make so many mistakes.
