What's to merge? Enter your same userid with any new computer and the individual and team information will be merged.

I personally couldn't care less about merging devices. There are many other things I'd like to see done, if possible, like new badges tongue

Re: MERGE COMPUTERS - WCG Techs don't care or are incapable?

Think this will 'never' happen. Full Stop.

(Simply does not fit with the sponsor's [putting up the millions each year to host the researchers projects] to desire seeing a steady growth of registered devices), active device growth keeping up too, no doubt.

Else, high temps under the collar on whatever part of the planet is no excuse to question the competence of any of the WCG staff.

"MERGE COMPUTERS - WCG Techs don't care or are incapable?"

Actually, WE don't care...

All stats are tracked by your username, almost no1 cares if there's a bunch of listed computers in a sub-menu that is almost never accessed...

Instead of merging computers i'm looking forward fo put my GPU's to work on WCG ^^

I used to care, but don't any more. It's now kind of interesting to look at the history of my home built projects via WCG.

Re: MERGE COMPUTERS - WCG Techs don't care or are incapable?

Hi David_L6, firstly, I respect the fact that you've been here nearly 6 years and the fact that you've already contributed well over 72 years worth of crunching time, although I'm also one of those who'd prefer to see the very limited resources that IBM are volunteering towards the running of WCG being put to other things. Such as bringing on new projects/ensuring that the already active projects run as efficiently as possible (i.e. the work that's going on right at this moment, to try and get the VINA projects to run more efficiently AND the work that's going on in the background to try and bring GPU processing to the grid - to name but two).

P.S. I, too, have made suggestions that are on the "to-do" list and which haven't (as yet), been implemented - even though the WCG staff have recognised it and prioritised it (the CEP2 time limit extension). Basically, it'll happen when it happens...

BTW, if you look back over the time you've been here, I'm sure that there'll be far more suggestions that have come out of the volunteer community and that HAVE been implemented, than you realise.

....yup, I don't give a damn either....who cares about not merging, rather have better things to do!

Re: MERGE COMPUTERS - WCG Techs don't care or are incapable?

IMHO, it does not matter.....let's focus on developing and rolling out GPU processing capability to speed up research.
