Seems to me someone is urinating up a vertical rope and hoping for rain. just saying........ Exactly. As long as he is not using an anti-gravity device and he is smart enough to know the difference... ![]() ; ; edit1_2012.06.13We.0638.utc ; - inserted he is ; [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 13, 2012 6:38:09 AM] |

Did WCG ever really say how the Jeopardy money was dispersed? I know it was supposed to support the sciences, but never really heard an official break down. I'm sure $500,000 could go a long way. http://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/33752.wss Hope it answers your question It does partially. Thanks for the link. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I believe that behind every question there is a reason why it was asked.
----------------------------------------I would like to understand the question and reason(s) behind it. These are some clarifying questions that come to mind; in no particular order. Is there a workaround available? Are you aware of host matching? http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Host_identification_and_merging How does this MERGE COMPUTERS request differ from host matching? What is the problem you are trying to solve? How would this feature help you solve your problem? Does the lack of this feature impact your ability to crunch at WCG? Good karma goes a long way!
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some battle.

It's about having stats merge of multiple installations over the lifetime of a single unique device [and rankings of those devices on e.g. BOINCstats].
----------------------------------------Reality is, as I've been able to do at other projects, merge hosts that were physically never the same mopping stats together of a retired XP device with a Vista device. That's not supposed to happen, but still it is/was possible. For the rest... it adds nothing, but maybe a clean device history. Some care, many don't. Nice to have, but zero effect in tangible value... of project advancement. Just an opine. --//-- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 13, 2012 9:55:37 PM] |
