Who (and where) has said VINA is E42 confused

http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/status

Though I'm getting WUs from batches that appear to be over 46395.. is there an E47? or maybe the batch ranges changed?

Complaint to Scripps: the "HIVE" graphic near the top of the page linked to above is a .png file of just short of 800KB. You could have converted it to a .jpg and probably saved 700KB or more. Have mercy on those of us with slow, expensive, wireless internet connections.

I guess E42-46 as described on the project page is just a fraction of what has been submitted. Mr Perryman wrote in his announcement in the forum:

I'll update the FAAH “Status” page (http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/status ) soon to describe the 182 million AD Vina docking jobs that I just created and submitted to the FAAH queue.

On the status page he wrote:
Experiments 42 through 46 (that is, AD Vina Experiments 1 to 5) involve screening ~ 5.6 million compounds against a recently-discovered allosteric site of HIV reverse transcriptase.

Any idea how the relation between "compounds" and "docking jobs" is?

Kind regards,
Martin

Re: June 14, 2013 update

I believe a docking job is to dock a compound to a target using several factors and variables. There are more docking jobs than compounds because of the multiple variables being considered (I think).

cool Re: June 14, 2013 update

Hi martin64,

I have now described all the AD Vina jobs that I submitted to FAAH thus far on the Status page. See http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/status

The last batch I submitted was 63525, which is the end of Experiment 51.

1 docking job involves docking 1 compound versus 1 model of a target. One "work unit" sent to an individual donor machine will involve either (a) several different AD Vina jobs (since they are so fast), or (b) a fraction of the 100 runs that are performed for a single AutoDock job. Thus, several AutoDock "work units" are combined to complete one full AutoDock job.

A "batch" (such as 63525) with AD Vina involves docking 10,000 different compounds versus 1 model of a target, while a "batch" with AutoDock involves docking 1,000 different compounds versus 1 model of a target.

Thank you for your interest and your support,
Dr. Alex L. Perryman

cool Re: June 14, 2013 update

Hello CJSLman,

Thank you for the update. Performing 300 CPU years of calculations for FightAIDS@Home in a single day on World Community Grid is quite an achievement!

FAAH is getting a larger share of the total CPU power of World Community Grid right now, because the other projects are not submitting enough jobs. When their queues start to run dry, the FAAH team always picks up the slack. ;)

Thank you for your interest and your support,
Alex L. Perryman, Ph.D.

shock Re: June 14, 2013 update

Hello l_mckeon,

I solved that problem today. I converted the HIVE logo into a jpg file, and I resized the image. It is now < 200 KB.

Thank you for your support,
