Re: CEP Uploads timing out (May 2)

We have only a line of connect to the techs, and they can connect with cleanenergy. Work fetch would not be impaired until the point that there are 2x more results to upload [for a grid, say WCG] than are cores in a system. Whence a quad has 8 of these stuck, nothing will come down anymore, and that goes for all sciences, not just CEP2. First practical act once you notice this is to suspend CEP2 tasks if getting close to the 2 times factor, that is if you're low on cache on the whole.

Re: CEP Uploads timing out (May 2)

I don't have any more CEP2 unit runing, so I cannot "suspend" the project.

By the way, CFSW units begin to be blocked too and I cannot upload the finished units any more.

Can anyone upload anything ?

Do I have to suspend the whole work and wait ?

I see here that I'm not alone one.

For the moment the *experienced* know what to do, such as upping cache before the 2 times cores download halt kicks in. I've passed the message from Justin (who'm I read is just(in) 18 years old), to check if anyone is awake at Harvard cleanenergy. ;P

Suspending any task in a BOINC-project will block all work-requests to project, so suspending CEP2 won't help getting other WCG-work.

As for uploads, if you're running v6.10.xx or v6.12.xx, one server having upload-problems will basically block all uploads, due to the project-backoff. In v7 on the other hand all new uploads is tried once before going into project-backoff, so as long as the other upload-servers is working, uploading CFSW shouldn't be a problem.

Re: CEP Uploads timing out (May 2)

Of course, Ingleside, I would unsuspend those frozen tasks temporarily to get a fetch going for a little, then suspend again, AND of course plan to up the cache a bit, so as not having to repeat that every other hour.

As for upload issues, thought to have seen round robin trying, and of course the selection of a specific file to upload and hitting Retry Now is an option.... or is it not?
