Is this the same problem as described in the SN2S forum Thread: Download of WUs is not completing...? The machines I had the problem with both run BOINC 6.10.56 while my laptop is using 6.10.58...

We love to have multiple threads on the same topic going [which makes it harder to support]. Recent Threads [link up top of all forums] lists out anything current in order of last newest to oldest active thread. Signed in and Forum profile preferences set, one can have up to 50 threads listed on 1 page. Wish it was visited first before new threads are generated. Question is: Is it support [paid and volunteer] that has to read it all and tie it together, or can we expect for those that are support and information seeking to do at least a modicum of reading first? Surely for a completely separate topic from this one, what can we all do to reduce duplication? One or the other CA always being on the board have no admin enabling at all... we cant even sticky current problem threads or move things to the right forum, so it does require for all to help out... certainly by those that have been a member longer than yesterday and are actively posting on a regular basis.
------------------------------------------//-- edit: certainly, the time it takes to move a thread is less than writing out a note to the admin to ask moving it, with the often many hours of delay, before done, increasing the chance a thread is started on same in a different forum. [this one really fits much better in BOINC support, not Website support] [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 31, 2012 10:26:21 AM] |

The only problem I have had with a thread being moved is I couldn't find a pointer from the original location of the thread to say to where it was moved. I think it would get everyone on the same page if one entry were left in a thread to say to where it was moved and why. Maybe even [moved] added to the thread description would help. Perhaps you could try such a thing by moving this thread to BOINC support if that is the correct thing to do.

Also, can anyone move a thread, or only an administrator or adviser?
