Ghosting Machines

Here at the University of Kentucky we want to utilize all the 1000 lab machines. I have a couple of concerns that I would like to bring up so one of you brilliant minds can answer.

We use Norton Ghost to send out an image to our machines. We have about 22 different images that go in our 16 or 17 labs. I want to put the WCG program on the "base computer" for each image. I then can put the image out. However, when WCG is placed on the computer it gets the device name of that machine. When ghosted out to the labs, doesn't that device name stay the same on all our machines ghosted from the "Base Computer"? And if that indeed is the case, what happens to the data that is sent to each machine - would it be getting the same data strings to the 1000 machines? I would hate to be wasting all these cycles and therefore not helping the project as much as we could.

Thanks in advance....
Paul
