Device not connecting

I've been having router problems for the past few days which means I have to turn it off every few hours. However this hasn't really harmed the running of WCG as it would pause and wait to connect... now though when I logged on it refused to connect and is still refusing even though I'm online..

Is this a server problem? or is it because of my own router problems?

Re: Device not connecting

I am having a similar problem today. The agent cannot connect to the server. The web site is ok. The agent is having a problem.

Re: Device not connecting

Ah.. I was worried that I had managed to mess up the agent somehow. But If I'm not the only one having a problem then it will probably be a server issue. Thanks for putting my mind at ease... I was getting worried lol.

Re: Device not connecting

Just read the info on:

http://wcgrid.org/cause.html

I am going to check to see if my fire wall (symantec on one PC, microsoft XP on other) has not been updated. This seems unlklikely that both were updated at the same time by two seperate vendors.

Otherwise it may just be congestion as desribed in the link above.

Rgds

Re: Device not connecting

I am back on line - my agent got connected and is now crunching its heart out to the beat of a couple of gigs TWANG lol!

My second PC has also started crunching - so we are up to speed again!
I had to rest the second PC to get it going - and Norton's firewall asked to accept the agent access to the internet - o there was probably an automatic update some time this morning (to Symatec's firewall).

Re: Device not connecting

These problems are also possibly related to a network problem that our hosting facility experienced this morning. For more information please review this post:
