I enjoyed reading about the redwood trees. I had started growing one in Prunedale, California, over thirty years ago, but it was taken down by gophers and replaced with a live oak which is still doing very well.
About ten years ago, I got some seedlings for cedar trees of which one is still living. I have been trying to determine the exact type of tree, but have been unable to find a reference with a description of the leaf for the cedar. |

Try http://forestry.about.com/cs/treeid/a/the_cedars.htm to start with. www.leafsnap.com also appears interesting but it doesn't look like it covers your area yet. |

Good Morning MOT The team points were down a bit and still over 1.1 Million I learned some new things about trees here in the past few days. I was really confused by the redwoods in England comments. I have some old pictures of me standing inside a ancient wound of an redwood and standing next to sequoia trees. So incredibly massive. Thanks for the interesting links. Thanks for the well wishes guys as well. Between my knee and my trees, people are being really supportive. BTW, knee is back 90+% and improving; I am a lucky man. It is a wondrous world we live in. The people are no exception. Everyone do your best today; tonight you will be happier for it. ![]() |
