Thanks for confirming that Lawrence and SekeRob. It will be interesting to see how they use the data over the next few years. ;)

I will easily coast into my blue badge in the next day or so, on pending alone. :D
----------------------------------------I have aborted all un-started HCMD2 tasks, to free them up for other badge hunters. Go get 'em! P.S. I seem to recall that there was another project ending soon. Do I remember correctly? Which? [Edit 1 times, last edit by zombie67 [MM] at Jul 14, 2012 2:46:56 PM] |

P.S. I seem to recall that there was another project ending soon. Do I remember correctly? Which? C4CW is coming to an end of a target (which was originally thought to be the end of the project), although it now sounds as though there'll be at least 1 more target to work through - that is, after a slight pause in the project.HFCC is also nearing the end of it's latest (and as far as I'm aware, it's last) target. Currently, it's on a 'reduced feeder priority' level, although when the issues causing that have been ironed out, it also won't have long left... ![]() |

Seems it is over - started to receive WU's from other projects. Probably will miss Silver badge by few days :-(

branjo, if you're willing (and able) to baby-sit your machine(s), you still may in fact be able to get your silver. Basically, follow these steps;
----------------------------------------1) Fill your cache with 1 days' worth of WU's (or however number of days' in between you're able to check it), 2) Select ONLY HCMD2 AND cancel out the checkbox stating that if no WU's are available, send other work, 3) Then up your cache by a couple of days - during which time, you may just catch enough WU's to take you to Silver. 4) When your machine is reaching a point when it's nearly run out of work again, repeat from step 1. The thing with this particular project, is that, WU's can only be generated after the previous generation have completed (i.e., child WU's are generated from parent WU's etc.). Thus, there may still be some more to come - albeit, in smaller (and smaller) batches... ![]() |

The daily stats have as yet given no hint that in quantitative terms the distribution has ended: See https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,25573 Validation numbers for past 7 days:
Task Hrs Results Date 4,23628 87,627 12th 4,10431 86,465 13th 3,87178 85,591 14th 3,81608 87,302 15th 3,76265 95,092 16th 3,66046 91,531 17th 3,58776 89,438 18th These would tail off quickly, even if part of the hunters have massively cached up in the last few days. The mentioned intermittency by gb does play a roll now... *if* a child quorum has not done all the positions requiring another seed, that can only be generated when the child is validated. This trickle can last 3-4 weeks [from past HCMD2 pauses]. The technique of filling cache with other work, set back to HCMD2 only, upping cache setting a bit, empty cache, set buffer low again to restock other work and so on is tedious, but it does work... if only hours/days away from the aspired badge level, but weeks... that requires true hunter dedication and MMing. |
