AFAIK, these are still the parents **. Based on mean runtimes reported in past 36 days for this series, venture to estimate a factor 0.75 of first offspring children to come.
----------------------------------------There have been 2.05 million parents validated, so there's still a good bunch to go, out there or in PVal/PVer to get to the est. 2.6 million [1.3M times 2]. The techs may release a quantification of children when all parents have returned [or 99% of those]. edit: ** [now circulating for 36 days and counting]. That suggests that for children etc, there's a good few weeks to go... more than the 15 days I've got showing on the dashboard ATM. --//-- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 5, 2012 10:36:47 AM] |

With 10.9 days current average validations, you'd need 34 days of steady crunching but your 129Gflops suggests you can or are doing more [not counting cache]. My 60 Glops is 12.3 days for comparison [all but laptop now powered down due enduring heat-waving].

Yeah, I crunch other projects too. But I will make WCG exclusive for the duration.

Looks like the children have started. My work units have restarted at 2500. Only a few more weeks left I guess.

When these work units run out is that the end of HCMD? Or will there be a new phase?

Hello sean0118,
When these work units run out is that the end of HCMD? Here is my June post: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...d,32499_offset,160#380219 Lawrence |

There's truly absolute nothing beyond this phase, or to put it corny "This is it".
----------------------------------------Between HCMD1 and HCMD2 was 2 years the researchers needed to analyze phase 1 data, learn and program, test, develop the MaxDo program and data for phase 2. If ever they discover a new approach to apply with this set of data and it would take on volumes which their own cluster could not process in a reasonable time AND can be made fit to split up and processed in little bits for a public grid, they would maybe approach WCG again... but that is years and years into the future, if. Personally, I hope they wont have to and simply now get into learning, testing and applying to clinical research for a cure or a major improvement in live expectancy.
