If you haven't noticed yet, we have a new project - Say No to Schistosoma. See the Research page and project forum for more info.

Good Morning MOT Congratulations GeraldRube, Finman and Fanie!!! Interesting new project this Schistosoma. It seems to me to be in a different class than the Cancer projects in that many fewer people are at risk. Of course if you have it...it is a different story. Kind of like military commanders indicating that xx% is an acceptable loss for this or that campaign. All fine, good and logical unless you are part of that xx%. I switched over some processers to it and will see if I can get a badge out of it. Still interested in seeing anything about a GPU project although my cash flow will limit my ability to do much about it. Everyone have a great day cus one of your friends from Texas says so! ![]() |

Good Morning Team ![]() I am not sure but every time I have checked our points have been 1,000,000 or more per day. That is great. It will be interesting to see what happens the remainder of the year. The first couple of months have been relatively un-eventful sans Schistosoma. My computers are finishing up a few non-Schistosoma WUs in the queues and should be in full swing on Schistosoma soon. Congrads GeraldRube, Finman and Fanie! New project cool! Slowly working out the bugs in my computers! Have a great day! As a Texan 7th generation apparently most Americans have an opinion of us and it ain"t good!!! Hey when you got it flaunt it!!! Hey Judson. I find it interesting that you have observed that the general view of Texans is not good. I generally find it the opposite. Of course there is the stereotype that we are braggarts but I find that most people tend to like people that are proud of where they are from. I suppose that it is what each of us makes of it but I have always been proud of being from Texas and many of my non-Texas acquaintances seem to if not endorse it, certainly accept it and have heard in aside conversations people say "see hun, some people are proud of where they are from". This quote was from a couple from Tampa Bay. All in all I think being from Texas is an advantage. My favorite story is one my dad told me years ago. "Son, never ask a man where he is from because if he is from Texas, he will tell you and if he is not then there is no need to embarrass him." Most of it is tongue-in-cheek and more fun than serious. Perhaps in previous centuries it was more significant but with modern transportation and other factors that encourage relocation (jobs, meeting and marrying non-Texans in the service etc. etc.) I think populations are more homogeneous (at least in terms of state of origin) than ever. This is not the first set of facts that tend to take the fun out of things but those of us that were "born and bred Texans" will continue to take some measure of pride in the fact. And the others will, to some degree, agree with the bumper sticker you sometimes see: "I was not born a Texan but I got here as soon as I could". We cannot forget that we are not unique in being proud of the fact that we are Texans. e.g. the rather optimistically coined "I heart NY" stickers and the "Kiss me I am Irish" (more likely ..kiss me I am pretending to be Irish" etc. Finally on that subject, So very few of us have the best of all worlds and that is being of Scottish stock AND being a Texan! Anyway this essential discourse must come to an end eventually so here it is: Everyone have a great day....One of your friends in Texas. ![]() |

RT, my first experience in Texas had to do with chiggers in Dallas. I was very young and did not stay off the grass. Are chiggers a problem where you live? What is the best way to handle that as I remember chigger bytes all over my body and the itching was terrible.

I just checked and I have no HCC in progress, so all of my work is now for GFAM and SN2S.
