Re: New Heights...

Thank you for your kind words, Sean.
I don't think it's for me to suggest not being part of the team permanently
and not knowing the full story, but normally your conscience will guide you.
I call my conscience my moral GPS.
What do you call yours?
What does it suggest you do?

It suggests that I stay. Fight for the right to if neccessary, but find some way to end the need to have to. I offerred an amicable solution for me in an earlier post today. A simple name change for this team. It was not sarcasm. I was offering an honest opinion of what I thought could at least ease my end of the conflict.

I'm not sure if you read it all, but the "go away" option will never be an option. I have way to much invested.

I'd accept an option for dialogue outside the open forum, but that option is not available. Sorry, Those posts were not meant to incite.
Sean
EDIT: Quick reread... Did not mean to come off as anything other than appreciative, LM. I do appreciate your concern for both myself and the others in this issue.... But most, your interest in this team. TY again.

Re: New Heights...

crossed over from the dark side today :)

Crunching away on 7 threads (1thread + GPU for GpuGrid)

My small contribution for the next couple of weeks.

You won't regret it. If your GPU is less than GTX570 and on 'long' WU's, I'd suggest Collatz. Collatz is math based but would deal better results if Math is something that would interest you. If not GPUGrid would be a great payoff anyway. You can actually choose from the GPUGrid projects also if you would wish.

BTW, TY for stopping by and giving us a try:)
Sean
Edit: not trying to push you into anything, but would really appreciate it if the CPU cycles could be directed to WCG :)

Re: New Heights...

@Simba,
Just in case that was unclear. Here, runall 8 threads wherever you wish to. The GPU draw for either of my 2X GPU systems is less than 1%. I have one on W7 which has no manager (other than 7X64 itself) and is flawless and maint free on both CPU and GPU end. That's the Collatz with the 460 and 465.
The other Sys is XP64 is the 2X 570's. I've always had that system on the Prolasso program and it handled the transition flawlessly with just a couple "frelt I had to" tweaks lol. It is as well showing less than 1% for both GPUs. Let it fly. GPUGrid has it optimized already. Any issues with the transition, post back.

Sit on back and enjoy GPU as it was meant to be :)

Reading your reply, Sean, makes me realize I did not write what I intended to say.
A small word - anything - makes the difference
between it being talking about you or about me. I meant it to say:
I don't think it's for me to suggest anything, not being part of the team
permanently (the fact that I'm migrating) and not knowing the full story .....

Re: New Heights...

@lm,
You are missing the point. You are a large part of the team, migrating or not. You will have a right to post any opinion you wish and on any subject. That's what a team is about. Migrate if you want, to me you will always be a very important part of this team whether we agree or not. The great thing about you is that nonone "has" to agree with you, and you are comfortable with it. That's why you are so important here!
Now... Love ya, want ya here. I'm not liking where all of my opinions "could" take this when misread. Gotta end this.
Thanks,
Sean

Re: New Heights...

Please let us have a nice fun place to be here @ WCG Sean.

Our home for our team is @ EVGA.com. If we choose to post in other areas we will when we feel like it.

We will not be changing our name at this time. The name was voted on by the team and will remain as such, "By the Team".

Folding@home is just like many here have already mentioned. Just part of all the DC work "WE" choose to do. And each has it's own home.

This is not the forum for back and forth. It is meant as a tool to spread the good we choose to do and get the message out to those not yet in the know.

This forum is meant to be a fun-well received- home away from home.

We are only looking to have "Positive" communications with anyone and everyone here. EVGA.com is where folks can go to discuss hard hitting items as that is where our home is and where all of our efforts are combined to.

Thank you for all the good you have done and will do. Please respect the wishes of our team and allow this place to be one of positivity at every level.

Re: New Heights...

I have to throw this post in from here:
http://boincstats.com/en/forum/2/7104,1
If you would like, please feel free to join in with a rather young Crunching team with big hearts and dedication. Crunching@EVGA started up a few months ago as an off-shoot of our Folding@EVGA (111065) team for Folding@Home. We welcome all who want to join in our community and share in the fun of contributing to science through distributed computing.

Our home forum is www.evga.com/forums and we have dedicated areas for Folding and Cruching that you can check out.

Thank you in advance for considering joining with us.

Note: These teams are completely comprised of forum members and are not in any way affiliated with EVGA the company. Most of us are computer hardware enthusiasts who own EVGA product(s), but these are in no way criteria for joining. All are welcome to join.
RJ is still a Mod at EVGA forums as well?
