Hello mortsnorkle,

Thank you very much for the link. It's an honor to have Scientific American help publicize this project.

Have a very happy New Year!

Best wishes,
Dr. Alex L. Perryman

Re: Welcome to the Global Online Fight Against Malaria project

I just noticed the screen saver graphics for GFAM - really great depiction of the nanoscale battle!

Re: Welcome to the Global Online Fight Against Malaria project

Is it my imagination or is the run time per WU increasing ? I have some on a q6600 Vista starting to run 13+ hours and at least one that looks to go 17 hours. They all seem to be validating so I am not worried, just curious.

Cheers

Re: Welcome to the Global Online Fight Against Malaria project

As you can see on http://bit.ly/WCGART the run times (brown plot line) are going through a roller coaster movement. The previous ''up'' topped out at a project mean of about 9 hours, where it's now 8.1

Actually, Sarge, you may want to consider upping the level of crunching at no cost. My Q6600, stock at 2400 Mhz but on Linux 64 bit has been running GFAM exclusively for longer with very steady times, the occasional excursion up and down, but generally running 6.25 to 6.75 hours.

Thanks. I do have two other systems which are currently crunching GFAM exclusively, both E6600 core 2 duo on Linux Mint 64. They are very steady between 5.5 and 6.5 hrs. The Q6600 quad crunches a variety. I do not care that much for Vista, but it crunches without error so "if it ain't broke I am not going to fix it. " My preference would be all Linux or Win 7, but if something is already installed I am loath to mess with it.

Cheers
