 Good Morning MOT Congratulations Jonathon Wright! You should only put people in jail you are afraid of, not those you are just mad at. If you are just mad at them, find an alternative sanction. There are a number of them all a lot cheaper than jails. I love that Sgt Joe. That makes a lot of sense. Now the other sanctions that are really disagreeable for the ones we are mad at and less so for the rest of us. I can think of some, but I can just see some organizations resisting them. That is really an interesting idea. Another unpopular idea would be to make jail/prison much less comfortable. Perhaps even harsh. Coincidentally, the Sheriff called and ask if his folks could come on my land and park so they could sneak through the woods to try to capture a fugitive from a nearby county. Of course I told them to come on anytime and let me know about it at their first convenience (usually I am alerted when someone comes on the land by my security system). Allegedly the fellow was committing a burglary and raped a woman while he was at it. I don't think they captured him. Unless he is bulletproof there are some places around here he might want to avoid. But I digress. Everyone have a great day. Good Morning MOT Looks like another good points day everyone. Congratulations everyone. We had an election here yesterday. Texas is funny in that dang near everything has to be a constitutional amendment. There were 10 for us to vote on. I read everything I could find and at the root of every one (but one) of them was a way for one or another of our "governments" (State, County, City, Water District, MUD, CDD etc.) to borrow and spend more money. They couched everything in glowing superlatives about benefits for this or that group, but the bottom line was they wanted to further mortgage the future for my grandchildren and great grandchildren. A continuation of the current political Ponzi scheme. Between my wife and me there were 20 nothankyouverymuchvotes. I just checked the voting results and our votes were in the minority. I guess we are going to spend our way to prosperity. I am so sick of our political process and these myopic, tyranny-of-the-majority-enacted borrowing measures that doom our future citizens to an unsustainable debt burden similar to those of parts of Europe today. I mean really.... Where are we going and what is this handbasket for? Oh well. Everyone have a great day!! I mean really!
