There is concern in some quarters that the Emergency Alert System Test to be performed Wednesday November 9 at 2PM EST has not been publicized and could unnecessarily alarm people.

I noticed that Lindsay Lohan got sentenced to 30 days in jail recently. It's Lohan's fifth jail sentence since being arrested twice for drunken driving in 2007

You know what they say about time flying when you are having fun?

Well the California jails must be a hoot. She served her 30 days in less than 5 hours. Seems she was home by 2 am after being booked at 8:50 pm due to chronic overcrowding in the California prison system.

I wonder if they have thought of just shooting the prisoner with the worst record to make room for each new prisoner; shock Probably not. It might help alleviate the overcrowding. thinking

Alternately if the Federal Government would let them legalize Marijuana like they want to, that would free up some room. I know they have horrible financial problems and really don't want to expand the jails. I guess we have made more rules with unintended consequences than we can handle. straight face

Oh well. d oh

One thing California should do is think about the maxim:
You should only put people in jail you are afraid of, not those you are just mad at. If you are just mad at them, find an alternative sanction. There are a number of them all a lot cheaper than jails.
