This is an interesting thread regarding porting BOINC/WCG to smartphones.

Fishing from a moving boat is trolling.
----------------------------------------I was making reference to an obnoxious troll. Don't want to name names. But did you notice that even when proven wrong he/they won't man up? Crunching on an Android is reality on another BOINC project, but is not yet being done on WCG. I have an iPhone and am not happy with it. My next device will have an Android OS running Linux and Java. Its open source which is a good thing.

I don't know about anyone else but SN2S is not downloading work to my PCs.
----------------------------------------DDDT2 has been offline for a long time. I was hoping that it would come back online because I don't have a badge. Also about 2 days shy of a Beta badge. HFCC is going quickly, there are less than 70 days available so if you need a few days to get the next badge now is the time. I turned off LAIM because I do not suspend tasks and run all tasks 24/7. Tried adjusting some other parameters to get my performance up. Most of them have had no effect.

Have been looking into checkpoints and the effect of preferences settings.
----------------------------------------To see when your WUs are checkpointing add checkpoint_debug in the cc_config.xml file. The first 4 lines of my file: <cc_config> <log_flags> <checkpoint_debug>1</checkpoint_debug> </log_flags> Look at the event log to see the checkpoint entries. Here are some examples: 5/24/2012 4:54:26 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result cfsw_2172_02172138_0 checkpointed 5/24/2012 4:54:41 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result cfsw_2179_02179710_0 checkpointed 5/24/2012 4:55:03 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result HFCC_target-9_00546486_target-9_0000_0 checkpointed 5/24/2012 4:55:05 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result cfsw_2170_02170618_0 checkpointed 5/24/2012 4:56:02 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result cfsw_2179_02179710_0 checkpointed 5/24/2012 4:56:05 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result cfsw_2170_02170618_0 checkpointed 5/24/2012 4:56:16 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result cfsw_2172_02172138_0 checkpointed 5/24/2012 4:57:07 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result HFCC_target-9_00546486_target-9_0000_0 checkpointed 5/24/2012 4:57:55 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result cfsw_2179_02179710_0 checkpointed 5/24/2012 4:58:10 PM | World Community Grid | [checkpoint] result cfsw_2172_02172138_0 checkpointed To turn it off use <checkpoint_debug>0</checkpoint_debug> You may have to run Read Config File in The BOINC Mgr Advanced tab. If you have time I would be interested in seeing some of your checkpoints.

You can run the checkpoint without impacting crunching.
----------------------------------------It just writes an entry in the Event Log. Picked up a bunch of SN2S Beta WUs but many of them resulted in computation errors.

This document is often overlooked but it will be worth your time to look through it:
----------------------------------------BOINC Client configuration http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration It addresses issues such as: - Which GPU to run, first, second,....none - Run GPU only - Run CPU only - Run only one work unit - Return results immediately - Many, many more goodies.
