Lots of errors

Hi,

I just switched a machine from FAAH only to C4CW only and while trying to get a new WU for one of the thread, apparently the machine experienced lots of issues, and delivered back to the server (at intervals of 1 minute approx.) more than 20 errors in a row, with 0 run time, like this one:

<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
WU download error: couldn't get input files:
<file_xfer_error>
<file_name>c4cw.target04.water-filled-filtered</file_name>
<error_code>-200</error_code>
</file_xfer_error>

</message>
]]>

Now, the machine has 1 C4CW wu still 'in progress' not errored out, but I do not know if it is running or it is just waiting to be reported as an error as well.

The machine has been fully reliable otherwise.

What could have happened? Maybe a conflict between FAAH and C4CW wus?

Thanks

Re: Lots of errors

Hmmm, the -200 is an issue in the work fetch verification process. Thought the techs had licked this issue. See https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...,29732_offset,1450#332804

Re: Lots of errors

Hi Sekerob,

not sure about the post you indicated, it jumps to the rain dance thread for DDDT2 ;-)

Re: Lots of errors

Don't know what there's not be sure about. Did you read knreed's post of [Jul 19, 2011 3:25:37 PM], hotlinked above?

Something fails in the WU verification after the task(s) have been received by the client. Requires techs to look into and your situation is not 0.7%. I've not seen it since the DDDT2 rain. and I'm running C4CW+CEP2 constantly, 99% of the time.

Re: Lots of errors

The link you posted brings me to [Jun 20, 2011 7:10:42 PM], anyway I then followed the coordinates you indicated and I found the post you refer to. I guess we have different settings for displaying the posts ;-)

For sure I am not 0.7%, I just wanted to report the issue, maybe someone else experienced it and did not notice.

I also had the same issue yesterday after starting a machine that hadn't run for a couple of months.
Eventually resolved it by resetting the project. Machine has now completed 4 tasks OK.

Cheers.

It's indeed the forum page display selection. Mine are set to 50 per page. It's the link right hand bottom of the post that I copy which includes a page offset that blows this. Try this, it's the print link: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/printpost_post,332804 Don't know, but providing links to posts is then cumbersome. Not figured out how to quickly determine the offset assuming a default display setting of 10. I'd be interested to know. Anyone got a idea for me?

Apologies, going quite off-topic here.

Re: Lots of errors

One of my computers was set to restart running C4CW. Just checked on the computer to find it had over 120 work units error out with the same fault.

<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
WU download error: couldn't get input files:
<file_xfer_error>
<file_name>c4cw.target04.water-filled-filtered</file_name>
<error_code>-200</error_code>
</file_xfer_error>

</message>

It is a bit of a shock when you rarely see errors. I will try resetting the project after the 2 CEP2 units currently running finish.
