Thanks for the chuckle Gerald! Shows you how much (very litte) I know about ammo. I thought lead ammo was a thing of the past. Learned a bit today. Lead bullets actually predate firearms. Seems that they were used in slings when hunting. When firearms were developed, these lead bullets were simply placed in front of the powder charge. I knew lead was a soft metal which made it easy to work with (making the bullets). That softness also became a problem as velocities increased. That's where copper came in - what came to my mind when I thought of bullets. The copper is actually a metal jacket that holds the lead bullet and the powder and is used for higher velocity ammo. I must be watching too much of the testosterone channels! Anyway, it may be that folks are of sorts already taking your advice given the price of copper these days and the problem with houses getting stripped for the copper wire and plumbing, not to mention the a/c units that go missing.
