Just to chime in, I too had no problems until 2 CEP2 betas were queued for me. Neither has managed to download the larger files, though some of the smaller went through. The event log says <whatever file> download failed: HTTP Error then Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site. I haven't seen any more detailed indication of the actual error, but when I tell it to retry it fails within a second or two.
----------------------------------------Edit: of course the minute I post this, I retry again and they're starting to go through. They have to be nursed through it. An op job came down while trying to download the last of the 66MB CEP beta files, and that kicked everything into failing. Another retry on the CEP file worked, but now I can't get any of the Proteome Folding beta files to download. Same error, same interval of a second or two. Not going to hammer on these will sit it out for a while. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 1, 2011 11:55:14 PM] |

Similar experience here but a good outcome. On one of my machines, there were 18 or so files pending download -- for 2 CEP2 betas and some HPF2 betas. When I clicked to retry one of the CEP2's it started, but then stopped again. However, all the other files completed their download. And, when I once again clicked to retry the first CEP2, it finished downloading.
----------------------------------------My other machines didn't have any pending downloads. |

I have 2 machines (both Macs) that are suddenly experiencing download "retries". let me know if I need to post any additional info. Edit: One machine finally downloaded successfully after several "Retry Now" attempts (about 5 minutes apart). Other machine got part of the downloads thru after several "Retry Now" attempts (about 5 minutes apart) but part of the download is still in "retry" state. I will periodically "kick" it. All segments finally downloaded. All machines happily crunching.

For me, one CEP2 work unit was stubborn. A couple of HPF2s downloaded while the CEP2 was stuck. Repeated retries didn't help so I aborted it.

I reconnected my netbook to try the Betas and it is completely stuck in project backoffs trying to download an HPF and an HCC. I'm going to let it try to work itself out. The other machines seem to have had no issues, but they were already running when the Beta started. They may have trouble when the work runs out, we'll see...

I just received my first CEP2 Beta and it appears (?) the server is down. Download backoff. EDIT: All projects are stuck in download now. Experiencing the same - as soon as a CEP2 beta download hit the download queue, all downloads stopped. The file that seems to cause a problem (for me) is cep_images_6.50.zip |

Patience on the retries works wonders. Not my forte, especially when a stuck download prevents others (hungry for a silver Beta here) -- but longest case so far is about 30 minutes. Manual retries at say 10 minute intervals -- it helps to be working from home at the keyboard anyway -- have unstuck all stuck downloads so far today.

I have some that are refusing to download now, too...

edit1: And, of course a couple minutes after I posted that, the HCC went ahead and finished downloading, along with 2 FAAH which immediately went to High Priority since they're due in about 24 hours. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 2, 2011 2:03:20 AM] |
