Re: More on HCC ending

I've completed the last of my GPU WUs, so will see a dramatic fall in points and an 8 RT/CD drop in runtime (no longer running 16 threads with 0.5 CPU in the app_config file).

It's nice to see a variety of projects in the queue though.

Re: More on HCC ending

I'm going over to GFAM and just hitting the odd CEP2, the servers won't allow some to be returned which means they spend hours and hours going around in circles... Constantly uploading to 99.99% and then stopping, then restarting again at 00.00% and all the while, while any One W/U is uploading, the ONLY website that will load for me is WCG??? crying .

P.S. This trouble only began on Friday, I've never had this trouble before, not even when running all cores on all available systems on CEP2?

@TMC

I've had the same issue with CEP in the last 48hrs. There's couple of threads detailing similar problems here (1) and here (2) both now marked "resolved". There's no CA or Tech comments and it just have been a transient problem. I'll keep an eye out for any more info.

Thanks for the info smile , I haven't had much time for looking for the past couple of days sad

GFAM

SekeRob posts in another thread:
GFAM, which I understand is currently into its last 2 experiments, 22+23

Judging by the batch # of GFAM WUs I received today Exp 20/123 has just begun with 20/124, 20/125, 20/126 to follow and the 21/# and 22//# after that.

Completing 20/# will probably take 3-4 days and then there's no indication of the size of 21/# and 22/#. The 103 days estimsted remaining might be over generous. Time to switch everything to GFAM!

Re: GFAM

Good evening all,

I have increased from 14 pages PV to 27 pages since yesterday. Looks like the rendering is complete and resources are being made available to WCG. Should be a good weekend for me in terms of runtime.

Re: In Other News

@ crooks_uk

SekeRob dashboard shows mean average runtimes but I think these are since a project began so I've added (in blue) the figure for the last 60 days:
	FAAH	8.09 5.86
HPF 7.13 5.14
HCC 1.91 0.64 CPU+GPU
CEP 7.10 7.55
DSFL 5.58 4.29
GFAM 5.57 4.18
SN2S 5.31 4.78

I recall there was a knreed post months ago saying that the techs are well aware of the need for 1 or 2 projects to have WUs with comparatively short Runtimes (I've tried to find the specific post without success). With the imminent end of HCC the server load will dramatically reduce so there will be the option for WU length (apart from CEP) to be reduced. I'll post the question in the forum and see what (if any) response there is. Posted here.

Thank you for the stats. Having reviewed the details of the current projects, I have decided to switch my support to HPF for now. Should a project change to have results which complete in only a couple of hours, I will switch my resources to give my idle only machines chance to complete before they time out.

Once we are all back to running on CPU only, I would be very interested to see how the daily stats for the top 10 team members look, if you wouldn't mind working your magic.

I would love to know how long (assuming I am gaining ground) it will take me to get into pole position for points and results again. biggrin

Do you have the stats for the projects in terms of points per hour of runtime for the last 60 days? Thinking of optimising the fleet to gain as many points possible without HCC to increase my points ranking, which is my lowest of the three metrics. I want to ensure that I stay in the top 1000 rankings for all three. smile

Not a problem doing the calc. The original spreadsheet used to estimate time to pass you is easily adapted to operate in reverse. But to have any meaning I'll need to accumulate 7days data relatively free of GPU work, so around May 14th.
