Thanks for the kind words, sadly this was a case of not researching and proper planning of changes to motherboard, only good thing done was a complete backup of docs / music /media. An expensive reminder to not just rush in making changes to kit without complete research and proper tools and anti-static precautions. Silly silly me.

Speaking of replacing broken components, I'm considering overclocking my gaming PC's CPU this weekend, just to see if I can speed it up a little - apparently the original i7's were really good for overclocking, I know a few people who got the 920 up from its standard 2.66GHz per core speeds up to 4GHz per core, and kept it stable.
----------------------------------------I doubt I'll be going that drastic, but upping it from 2.66GHz to 3.36GHz looks to be an easy and pretty "safe" middle-ground. Hopefully should help a little, both when it comes to gaming and to crunching... ![]() |

Morning all
----------------------------------------Not seen the movie but may well have to find it for an evenings viewing. Never quite sure how these biopic movies will come out, especially when it will contain music that you are familiar with. Ooo, look at the time, coffee o'clock! ![]() |

Another very satisfactory days crunching for the UK team resulting in 2nd best Points total and 3rd best RunTime !
----------------------------------------![]() RunTime The UK team's Average RT per cd for November improves to 283.1 and the 7day Average breaks 290, rising to 292.7 Ian_UK continues his resumed crunching and establishes an inital baseline: 1:12:11:50; 14,381; 29 ![]() There are currently 68 days of HCC remaining! [Edit] Another 'tucked away' message, this time from Viktors WCG Tech @ Nov 27, 2012 5:11:25 PM: Sorry, we don't have an "official" estimate of how much more work there will be yet. The researchers are still trying to figure this out themselves. Not seen the movie but may well have to find it for an evenings viewing. Never quite sure how these biopic movies will come out, especially when it will contain music that you are familiar with. Andy Serkis is a massive fan of Ian Dury and so was the perfect choice, he looks almost like his twin in the movie, and when filming the set for the end credits, when the band began to play, I remember the Drummer saying in an interview that recording had to stop, due to him bursting in to tears because he thought he was playing with Ian again, thats how close Andy was. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sex-Drugs-Rock-Roll-D...qid=1354122859&sr=8-1 Good going Team ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by themoonscrescent at Nov 28, 2012 5:15:28 PM] |
