pirogue -- Great job! Thank you for the work that we all can enjoy and WCG potentially can benefit from. Tiny comment: I needed to install zlib1.dll as well as the two dlls you list in the instructions in order to get the program to run. You're welcome. I'm glad you and others are finding it useful (or at least entertaining). What OS are you running? I had no idea about that .dll. Yours is the first report I've had of it being needed. It happens to be buried in one of my path locations, so I didn't realize it would be an "extra" something. I'll make a mention of it on the download post. Thanks for the tip. |

What OS are you running? The computer I installed WCGDAWS on is running Windows 7 Home Premium. All my other machines run Ubuntu Linux 10.04. If I have time this weekend, I'll try installing your program under wine on one of them. Will let you know how that goes. ![]() |

OK, I was too curious about WCGDaws and Linux, so I tried it when I got home from work just now. It works just fine under wine 1.3 under Ubuntu 10.04.
----------------------------------------![]() Installation was the same as under Windows -- just unzip two zip files into the same directory. Then entering "wine WCGDAWS.exe" in that directory brought it up. ![]() |

@kateiacy Glad to hear it works in Wine ![]() And of course thanks to pirogue for making the program in the first place ![]() On a little more experimentation, it looks as if the program doesn't work quite right in wine. The screen scrolling doesn't work for me. However, the important parts -- gathering of data and computation of statistics -- work fine. ![]() |

What do you mean by screen scrolling? I just installed a VM with Fedora + wine + winetricks + wine_gecko and the scrolling seems to be fine.
----------------------------------------On the other hand, the column filter down arrows are screwy, but they work. |

kateiacy , could the scrolling issue just be down to the GPU/driver or resolution settings?

On the other hand, the column filter down arrows are screwy, but they work. @pirogue, I can do vertical scrolling just fine on the spreadsheet page. On the page that is just a copy of the WCG statistics page, a vertical scroll bar is there on the side of the window but it doesn't do anything. That's no problem since I can see that whole screen on the WCG web site. @skgiven, no, screen resolution, GPU drivers and settings are just fine. This is the laptop I use for everything, and believe me, I would have noticed and corrected those kinds of problems long ago. There's one other program that I run under wine, and it has no issues. ![]() |
