New BOINC icon in taskbar everytime I open the program

I have a Windows 7 computer, and every time I open up the BOINC manager, a new icon appears in my taskbar in the right side, the notification area. This is not really problematic, as BOINC icon is set to "hidden" (so I only see it when I click the little arrow) but it's a little annoying when I see 10 of the same icon.

Don't set the Icon to hidden, then when you want to open the manager, instead of reopening via start menu, just double click on the Icon in the task bar. Works fine for me.

Click on the little arrow, then double click the BOINC icon to reopen the BM.

The next client, 6.12, will actually have an option to check if the BM is already loaded. Then you can choose to open an additional copy or just have it open the one already loaded.

I think that what you are doing is actually opening multiple instances of the Boinc Manager. You don't want or need to do that. So, if you want to see what the Boinc system is doing, just double click on the item in the taskbar per instructions above. Have a great day and thanks for contributing to the WCG. smile (Edit spelling)

Yes, the problem is easily fixed by exiting out each instance of the manager. I hadn't realized that there were multiple instances open. Thank you everyone for the replies!!
