Re: flagU.S. Air Force Team-Come fly with usflag

Sounds like where I'm living. Used to have cows and chickens around me. Then the developers got hold of it...<sob!>

Can't even see any remains of the citrus groves anymore. That was a couple of years before me I assume. During the summer when it's 110+ out you can drive past citrus groves in the valley and the temps drop 10-15 degrees in the evening. Sure feels good.

Let's set the record straight

In an attempt not to inflame, but simply to set the record straight I would like to direct your attention to my recent post at

The Few, The Proud, The Marines - Semper Fi Marines, ski1939 (USMC team captain)

Re: Let's set the record straight

No cows but plenty of chickens, horses, a few pigs and a peacock. All the properties within a couple of miles can only be taken down to 1 1/4 acres. All horse property. I do like the seperation from the nearby houses. So far the city has made it hard on the developers by stipulating more seperation between homes then the developers feel is profitable. That means the city does not want people to be able to reach out their window and touch the house next to them.

Re: Let's set the record straight

I hear that. 80 x 100 foot lots is simply too tight.

Awwww.... ook at da widdle sailor boys and squids. Typical. Older services are around forever, then get perturbed when the Air Farce sweeps in at the last minute and starts sucking up all the goodies! <snicker>

As a member of >>>BaseCamp<<< and the instigator for Air Force's Turbo Boost, I just wanted to state that as a group we stepped in to help U.S.Air Force. There was nothing political involved. I've read and accept your post at your thread. Again BaseCamp just chose a victim and stepped in to help; obviously it worked, we got your attention, so this Trek was a success!!

Who knows BaseCamp may or may not visit your team next!! It just depends on what the members decide on when the time comes! wink

Re: Let's set the record straight

I looked at their post but just let it slide. Every branch brainwashes their recruits into thinking that their particular branch is the best and the rest are useless. Now the link ski1939 posted would be better if it showed a total for all branches of the military combined.

Once you have been in and are willing to look at reality most (not all) members of all the services realize that it is a team effort. No single branch can do all that is required during war or conflict. Imagine the Navy taking the fight to the enemy on the ground, the Air Force taking care of enemy submarines, the Army trying to take out enemy factories from 100's of miles away, or the Marines or Army bringing all their own supplies in by short range ospry's or helicopters or even better, by ship. Your order for ammunition will be filled in 2 weeks, thank you. Just aint gonna happen.

With age and rank comes the wisdom that we all have a niche to fill and together we are strong. By ourselves we are only strong in specific areas and you can't win a war (or better yet deter a war).

Want a real challenge? Think you and the other services are man enough to try this challenge?

How about a U.S. Military team? (How about a world (democratic?)military team?) We all work together toward the common good of mankind. I have a feeling that many of these "team players" will only work for their little teams. Imagine the strength of a true military team effort. Nothing could stand in our way for long.

I know, I know, pipe dream...But remember the old sayings...Strength in purpose and Strength in numbers.

Sorry I rambled on this one, brought it on myself with the jest about the other services. Hope I have let you all know that I do not discount or discredit any of the other services just because I am from the best one. biggrin
Better not take me serious on the last comment. shame on you

Back on topic. New machine on line, GTX470 GPU crunching collatz since MW is down. Dual core CPU crunching WCG. Better late than never I guess. cool

Re: flagU.S. Air Force Team-Come fly with usflag

Interesting concept (services united)....even if only for a limited time!

Get with the other Services Captains and make it happen , Dan!!!!

Create a short term new team, or optional long term team;you guys work out the details ...I don't know, perhaps "US Defenses", or whatever ....perhaps a major team with member affilliation

This is a really great idea! If you guys can coordinate during a war; you should be able to coordinate here...PEACEFULLY

EDIT: as BaseCampers, this is what my friends and I do on a revolving basis; combine crunch power from different entity groups, join together for a common good, yet maintain our Individual/Team identity when it's over!

In a few days this trek will be over it was very quiet, but very productive

Perhaps we have left you with some concepts to think about!

Re: flagU.S. Air Force Team-Come fly with usflag

I'm with you Dan! Purple service was long a dream.

Of cuss I'm former USAF dating a former member of the Iranian Air Farce, so we're already doing a global unification.

Not THAT kind of unification you prurient minded crunchers! <snort> Boy has to put a ring on my finger before we merge equipment. But we're definitely working on bettering relations. Especially now I've met his mom. <grin>

Maybe we could have a mil-spec subgroup of Serious Crunchers? After all, a lot of us have done our time...
