Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

That figures as I didn't vett it. That's what was announced live during the game. You mean you can't rely on what you hear on TV? laughing biggrin laughing

cowboy

EDIT: They got half of it correct; last time Harvard was in the playoffs was 1946.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

If you happen to be in the Boston area tonight you have the chance to meet the Harvard CEP team at the MIT Energy Showcase in the Boston Park Plaza Castle. We’ll be there to pitch the Clean Energy Project to the crowd and answer any questions that will come our way. Admission is free, so come by if you have the chance!

Oh well, facebook finally made us change our research log to the new timeline design. Hope we'll all get used to it...

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Some good and some bad news from the statistics front: The good news is that we just passed the mark of 8,500 years of utilized CPU time! This is a great achievement you should all be proud of.

The bad news is that the daily results have plunged and it might have something to do with the recent server update which seems to have messed up the network requirements of some users. Please check that CEP2 still runs fine on your system and post to the forum if you see persistent problems.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

cleanenergy, although I've no info to 'back up' my thoughts, the drop-off in results may be due to the fact that, since the server upgrade, everyone's computer has to be reverified before they can 'go it alone'. Thus, there'll be a lot more WU's currently tied up in PV, awaiting on their wingman reporting back...

Hopefully soon, there'll be enough computers back in the reliability class so as to allow the WCG techs to switch that function back on - and hence, allow people to run Zero Redundancy WU's again.

Just my twopenniesworth...

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

I know it is frustrating at the moment but it will sort out soon. You got hit with a tripple whammy; the server upgrades, the recertification as gb indicated and a GPU Beta. Folks often opt out of projects to get Beta's exclusively ( whistling ). Kevin has posted that they will focus on your problem as soon and the current fires are extinguished. Hang in there. coffee

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

When I filter for CEP2 on all machines, I see a lot pending, many WU's; a couple valid, one inconclusive.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

I am with you all. My machines are crunching them without a problem, but then they all go into pending or inconclusive, with the incons uping to pv eventually. My best guess is that they are waiting for wingmen, rather than any inherent problem, as they eventually turn valid.
