Surely you remember that this was last mentioned by cleanenergy as being predicated on the server setup change, which I took as last weeks upgrade... like so many things now falling in place, cant be too far off.

Some of you may remember that we competed in the CycleCloud BigScience Challenge and that we made it into the final round. The results are in and although we didn’t quite manage to clinch the victory we were the close runner-ups and were awarded an Honorable Mention. Cycle Computing had another nice surprise for us: In addition to the computing time we won for the 2nd place, they will donate all the idle time on their R&D clusters to the Clean Energy Project – which will likely add up to a very sizable chunk of CPU cycles

Hi cleanenergy - nothing mentioned then as to increasing the '12 hr cut off limit'? Inside of each workunit are 13-14 'jobs' that are run. Harvard prioritizes the the jobs so that the highest priority jobs are run first. Work done and information from Harvard before we started the project revealed that some of these workunits could run for days. The amount of data produced as output is related the difficulty of job. Thus for these very long running workunits, there will be correspondingly more data uploaded at the conclusion of the workunit. Due to this reason, a decision was made jointly by World Community Grid and Harvard to implement the 12 hour limit. We have this work item in the queue and we will be implementing the feature. However, as you know, we have multiple commitments and we are managing our time against all of those commitments. We cannot provide a date that this feature will be enabled at this time. |

Thanks Kevin for your update - it's just exactly what I was hoping for.
----------------------------------------I know that you and the rest of your colleagues are constantly being asked to do more and more (it was like that for me when I was working for Big Blue - so I know exactly what you're going through). All I can say, is keep up the excellent work you're doing. ![]() |

Vanderbilt: 79 Harvard: 70 ENERGY TRIVIA: The last time Harvard was in the NCAA playoffs gasoline was $0.03/gallon and the Atomic Energy Commission was created. ![]() Not to get off course here, but the best I could find is that gasoline never cost $0.03/gallon. The Atomic Energy Commission was created in 1946 when gas cost $0.21/gallon. http://www1.eere.energy.gov/vehiclesandfuels/facts/2005/fcvt_fotw364.html Sorry to see you lost your bet on Harvard. Cheers
Sgt. Joe
