Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Well I finished out my commitment to another project and have all my machines trained on CEP2 now instead of splitting the work. Hopefully I should be giving you 13 to 14 CPU's a day's worth. Im getting ready to pick up an older machine from one of the guys at work for ten bucks, if it plays out, ill have another cruncher... well nibbler, have no idea how fast it will be yet.

Wow! Between the smaller workunits and the good CPU time harvest the number of returned results has jumped up to 35,000 yesterday biggrin .

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Exciting news: Q-Chem – the quantum chemistry program package we use in CEP2 – has released its version 4.0. It should be a good bit faster than version 3.2 which we currently use and it also offers a number of interesting new features. Hope we’ll be able to switch to this newer version as some point in the future.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Good news!
Do you have a plan for migrating to Q-chem 4.0 or is it still too far away? Do you have any projected performance increase from going to that version?
