Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Thank you for the update. Any idea on how close the project is to completion?

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Hi Seoulpowergrid

The project would end at about 31,200,000 results.
With 40,000 results per day it would take 15 days (it is only a speculation, nothing official target)

Or look this thread :https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,36687

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Is CEP2 100% nonprofit?

Is anybody patenting the results?

Are the results made available in a way that enables everybody to look at the findings at the same time?

"The project is in many instances guided by input from experimentalist collaborators, in particular the Bao Group at Stanford University."

Is Bao Group for-profit and do they patent findings?

No answer?

Zhenan Bao, of Bao Group, is a "International advisory board member, LG Display, 2010-present.".

LG is the second largest manufacturer of LCD-displays. Are we crunching for LG?

One of the very first criteria for a project running on WCG, is that all the results will be in the Public Domain.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

TBMS,

All the data from WCG projects is public domain and available for everyone to use.
If someone discovers something from using that data, they may do anything with it, including patenting it.

But everything that your computer does here will be shared with everyone. It is like open-source.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

There seems to be a full-duplex line between CEP2 and Bao Group and I'm wondering if the same is true between Bao and LG.

Are the results shared with Bao Group before they are made public?

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Hi TBMS.

The Bao group has other collaborations beyond CEP, and that is something we at Harvard obviously have no control over. With regards to the data - we release our results through the CEPDB, from where anyone can have access and do what they will with them. Falconet and gb009761 are correct in what they say, and it is very important to note that everything we do here on the grid is shared with the world. It is one of the most important points about work done on the WCG.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

So, the answer to the question: "Are the results shared with Bao Group before they are made public?", is no? They don’t receive any partial results or any other raw data ahead of publication in CEPDB?

Hi TBMS,

You are not crunching for anybody, the rest of us is crunching and/or shrubbing for WCG. Can you see the difference? Never mind. Keep whining and we will keep shrubbing and/or crunching. And, please, never ever put me in the same bucket in which you are.

Cheers

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

TBMS, if you're going to reply then please start a new thread in the normal thread section.

Lets leave this place for CEP2 project updates.

And thanks for asking the questions you did.
