Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Prof Todd Martinez visited the lab yesterday. He is doing very interesting work on electronic structure and GPU acceleration.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Does this renew a possibility of gpu accelerated code?

Sorry if this has been discussed previously. I'm not even sure if the analysis you guys run would even benefit from the parallelization offered by gpus.

Don't get your hopes up, mate. Oh how I wish and pray for that day to happen. Got 3 PCs with all in all 9 slots for gpu cards ready and waiting to crunch.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Is CEP2 100% nonprofit?

Is anybody patenting the results?

Are the results made available in a way that enables everybody to look at the findings at the same time?

"The project is in many instances guided by input from experimentalist collaborators, in particular the Bao Group at Stanford University."

Is Bao Group for-profit and do they patent findings?

TBMS,

All of the World Community Grid projects results have to be publicly available.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Sidarth and Loui - we would love a GPU accelerated code to add to our project and are looking into how possible it would be to make that happen. GPUs would allow us to study larger molecules, and expand the scope of what is possible on the grid. We will keep you informed of any developments.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

You might want to update this page then. http://www.molecularspace.org/faq/cep-faq/

Looking forward to helping you guys and girls crunch the next 25,000 CPU, and hopefully GPU, years of work.

Bring it on!
