As I would have to log into to them all anyway even to get grid running again, I may as well move them over.
I've noticed that this client doesn't need properly installing - will happerly run just copying installed files from one machine to the other - so should just be a case of registering the machine and changing the directory that ud runs from in the scheduled task ![]() |

Hi guys
Well this lil pup is at full capacity........Oh and lilsmaps test unit is still going and seems to have picked up a lil speed....now at 51% after 14 hours. Funny how the units seem to pick up speed the further in they go. Taking the girls out once they finally decide what they want to do. |

I've got all my home machines crunching WCG 24/7 now, most are very slow laptops so I expect my usual low-results, high-CPU stats. Not much for yesterday as they weren't on then. Today should be better I hope!
----------------------------------------I reckon I'll leave it like this until further notice, leaving all my work test lab machines on UD for the moment. Nice to see I'm a member now and no longer a n00b! |

Just noticed that I still had the max harddrive space set to 1G
---------------------------------------- Upped it to 10, was wondering why my points were doing so much worse than the other stats ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 25, 2005 12:27:44 PM] |

Disk space is the lowest contributer to the points, CPU and memory being the main ones! - but those extra few points per machine will still help!!! |

Please refrain from just copying the install directory. This causes the same work unit to be processed extra times and takes a while for the server to figure out you have made a clone installation and to recover from that. |

Funny how the units seem to pick up speed the further in they go. Yeah - I've been keeping my eye on my other logged on user on my home PC (fast user switching again!). It was on about 40% and 4 hours a couple of hours ago. Now it's 27% through a new unit after nearly an hour with about 300 points credited! |
