Dang! Before I forget (again), we're taking a 2.5 day weekend up to the mountains this weekend. I'll be gone Friday and Saturday night and getting back late Sunday night probably. I need someone to grab the team stats data on Friday and Saturday for me. I'll post those stats with Sunday's. Volunteer? I will do it. I have the URL...just tested it for grins. Congratulations go to Coingames and Mr. Bell. Way to go guys. ![]() ![]() Thanks RT!! |

There has been some talk of netbooks on this thread recently which has prompted me to ask..... I have a 2gb Samsung NC10 netbook which i would like to use for WGC crunching. Is there a particular WGC project i could run on it that would make best use of the Atom processor and have generally short run times? Thanks, Guys ! Oh and Thank you Judson ![]() If you're just looking at run time, C4CW and HCC have the shortest run times on my systems. Well, DDDT2 type C WUs have the shortest run time but you don't know when they'll be available. If you're going to be using the netbook for other things, HCMD2 has the smallest memory requirements (by far) and most of them will finish in about 6 hours no matter how much work they've done with a few exceptions. If you're not going to run much else on your netbook, 2GB is enough to run any of the projects. - D Netbook is running like a dog crunching CMD2 (27% in 9hrs), so i have set up my netbook profile to work on only those projects you have suggested and see where we go from there. Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by barney15c at Oct 7, 2010 11:28:58 AM] |

Good morning MOT! Computer parts should start to trickle in today and hopefully by weekends' end I will have a new cruncher. Lost 2 recently. One is a notebook where the connection to the screen broke and I may be able to repair the other has a dead power supply which should be fixed by Friday, so my scores should go up soon.

Thanks! ![]() Good Morning MOT ![]() ![]() Barney15c Lee: My netbooks take from 8 to 22 hours to complete a C4CW Work Unit. Slow but steady ![]() Keith: Will start collecting this PM after 8 Central Time. Judson: Cool about getting the parts and fixing yourself. It is not nearly as bad as people fear. Your email address failed for me. If you want, we can try again. The notion being rather unscientific..just take the wallclock time it takes to run 100 C4CW WUs. (Start with a queue of 100 and not allowing more and then run till the queue is empty. I would really like to compare the times between a 6 core AMD and my pending I7/870. On my pending cruncher, not all the parts got here yesterday. ![]() Everyone have a GREAT day. ![]() |

As many of you know, our team is actively participating at Kiva as"My Online Team" (with the spaces). I found this on their web site:
----------------------------------------What is Kiva? As of October 2010, "My Online Team" has facilitated almost $5,000 in loans.Kiva's mission is to connect people, through lending, for the sake of alleviating poverty. Kiva empowers individuals to lend to an entrepreneur across the globe. By combining microfinance with the internet, Kiva is creating a global community of people connected through lending. Kiva was born of the following beliefs: * People are by nature generous, and will help others if given the opportunity to do so in a transparent, accountable way. * The poor are highly motivated and can be very successful when given an opportunity. * By connecting people we can create relationships beyond financial transactions, and build a global community expressing support and encouragement of one another. Kiva promotes: * Dignity: Kiva encourages partnership relationships as opposed to benefactor relationships. Partnership relationships are characterized by mutual dignity and respect. * Accountability: Loans encourage more accountability than donations where repayment is not expected. * Transparency: The Kiva website is an open platform where communication can flow freely around the world. As of November 2009, Kiva has facilitated over $100 million in loans. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 7, 2010 10:15:00 PM] |
