I saw those. I still have only upgraded one machine and have no plans to do anymore until there is some good reason to do so.

heck I can't even get ubuntu and 67.10.58 to work right Or any other boinc version on that system tryied to add the lines needed in the cc config xml file but It seems as though I do not have the rights to that file so I give up.. only on win 7 64bit now.. I am running Pinguy Ubuntu off the disk and installed from package manager --its still faster than Win7-- |

We call this a Code 665 "Thread Hijack in Progress". The topic is on problems and features of the new STILL IN DEVELOPMENT 6.12 client itself. Plz can we keep it that?
----------------------------------------thx. Edit: PS and to edit files you have no rights to, use ''sudo ''(with a space before the command such a gedit making is sudo gedit xyz.cfg ). You'll have to provide the root password which on most systems by default is same as the user password and provides temporary rights elevation, the expiration time definable, but for that some more serious RTFM is needed ;) [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 2, 2011 12:05:40 PM] |

Today found the first WCG submitted messages in the new Notices tab of BOINC Manager. This signals that WCG is probably working to elevating the server side state of the software. Whilst this is progress, I'm not happy with the way the Notices are presented in the Alpha client, seemingly already pegged for general public release (but likely skipped by WCG): 1. The notices cannot be copied to pass to friends 2. More grave, the links to the full news items are obscured/invisible, just the mouse pointer changing to a hand to say it's an active field. Made it known in the testers mail list proposing to show it in the BM status bar same as BOINCTasks is already doing (allowing copying too ;>), so we'll see if a new alpha test round will be scheduled. --//-- The reply of David Anderson was that the (x-platform) WxWidgets handling the notices is a primitive html renderer and could not provide copy functionality or display the link addresses. Who knows, on next release :( |
