Re: CEP2 beta for windows - Version 6.25

Are WUs validating at all? I've already clicked on the "Try validation" link 3 hours ago and it disappeared. Now the WU is still in PV and "try" link visible again -_-

Re: CEP2 beta for windows - Version 6.25

The rules for Beta are different to CEP2 itself... Who's signed up for the Beta program and has the minimum system requirements will get them, 1 per core in progress. Complete one and a new one is send if new work is requested.

Re: CEP2 beta for windows - Version 6.25

For me everything seems to proceed normal...

Just finished 26 Beta-Tasks, but they are all pending and about 6 of them are finished by my wingman too... But these are in pending validation too...

Any news of the validator? When he will validate the results?

I second that. What is a test useful for if no validator is in place?
15 units reported, some finished by wingmen as well, but no validation takes place.

Maybe someone in Harvard will go at work in the morning and validate? :)

I don't think this is what happened today. Earlier when the beta started, I couldn't get any WU's (it didn't even say beta WU not available). Once I click to add the project, I started getting some right away. I can't say with 100% certainty that you are worng or not, but your statement doesn't sound right. Doesn't really matter. More betas for the badge chaser.

Beta-WUs are independent from project selection.

Re: CEP2 beta for windows - Version 6.25

I finished ~30 with no apparent problems. They are running a bit longer than I expected and multiple, concurrent uploads from several machines really slow uploads down. Milkyway does NOT like the long uploads and I've had some MW stall and have to be forced to restart the upload. But then MW does not like GPUGrid's long uploads either (longer than these) and acts the same way. Not a WCG problem.

And as everyone has mentioned, the validator is on holiday. laughing

Re: CEP2 beta for windows - Version 6.25

anhhai, coincidences. My duo assigned profile has no CEP2 selected since it gives the message that the app is not available for windows. The machine received 2 whilst I was asleep, on a C4CW/Beta opt-in profile.

For Beta you will never get a message that none are available. That queue is silently and firstly checked every time a beta-opted client asks for work (and switched on by techs). Only after that, the server checks if work is there for the regular production queues.

FWIW Dataman I had that upload problem. The best solution for me was to limit the upload speeds to no more the 80% of capacity if all machines were uploading at the same time. Anything more bogged my network down to an unusable crawl.
