Download a couple of HPF2 jobs... that will pump it up. Download speed is highly affected by many short files which really never get to reach max speed, so by forcing a few jobs to come that are known to have bigger downloads, BOINC will adjust, temporarily. Mine is measured 266kB presently off from a recent mix of C4CW and HPF2. Thanks, I had a couple of FreeHAL and cleared my cache of HCC. That's what you get when you're getting greedy...for bronze beta :P |

well i have 5 running now (5 cpu total) so i am very happy.
----------------------------------------and these defiantly look like they will hit the 12 hour mark each. I know that I am no where near silver but they will make a nice progress towards. the 12 hour mark seems to match 12 hours with progress % as well as elapsed time but will see what they end up with .. heck each hour is 1 hour closer... as well as us getting closer to getting these CEP's released for windows and grabbing up the badges. Also the timing just seems perfect for me. It normally takes a week or so out from start of beta till actual production and its looking like I have 5 days at full processor power to make gold @ c4cw so I should be right on the mark. |

Got 5 running on 3 Windows devices; the slower device is still crunching on two other WUs.

I have completed 6 Beta units and all finished around 4.5 hours. As expected they showed progress as if going to last 12 hours right up to the point that they finished.

The one solitary WU I managed to snag, completed successfully whilst running with a mix of c4cw, hfcc & hcmd2 - again, as mentioned in the previous post, it showed progress as though it was going to take a lot longer to complete than it actually did (last time I checked, it was ~60 odd %, then the next news, was that it had finished).

I noticed two 68MB .zip files being downloaded. The files are beta11.qcaux.zip and beta11_qcaux_6.25.zip. They appear to be two different versions of the same thing. Why would we need the old (11/11/2009) and new (08/11/2009) versions? Does each WU have to two parts, one run against the old version and one run against the new version?
----------------------------------------P.S. It looks like I went to be 10 minutes too early. |

Got 5 WUs over few devices. Estimating 10 hours on 2Ghz
----------------------------------------Btw had to manually edit client_state.xml file because my 2 MBit, which recognized as 50Kbit by BOINC, was not enough :) |

2 completed on Q9450; one in 4.66 hrs the other 6.29. Ditto as above and CEP2 on linux, they appeared as 12 hrs until they finished. Two others running at 6 hours and counting.

I'm seeing the same suspiciously low CPU utilization, as reported by BoincTasks, that I saw with the linux version.
----------------------------------------I noticed that each WU has 2 tasks in task manager: -wcgrid_beta11_qchem_6.25_windows_intelx86 (100% of core/thread) -wcgrid_beta11_6.25_windows_intelx86 (0% of core/thread) Is it possible they are being averaged to derive the utilization? |

In Linux I see 3 or 4 processes but only ever one clocking time. One of them seeds the 16 jobs that a task is comprised of. similar to linux the time does not run beyond the segment. When a checkpoint is written a new process gets launched, that bit taking a portion of the efficiency out as observed by several.
----------------------------------------edit: as you see two of each, one having a constant PID and the other changing at checkpoint. Makes monitoring performance over the full task run difficult. Process Explorer only shows the data for the current job/segment.
