JP,
----------------------------------------taking the discussion off line is not going to help the community. We like to learn what is not working so we can take it to the next one who's got same issue. acpartsman The global_prefs.xml content will help and also a copy of the <time_stats> section in the client_state.xml (for screwed values) and a copy of the first 30 lines of the clients message log directly after a start up. And than the gotcha in the activity menu: Is networking set to be always available IAW are the tasks self uploading and reporting or is it when you hit update, which forces a line open in 6.2.28 (no longer works in 6.10). Also confirm that if the Clear was hit in local prefs that the global_prefs_override.xml is gone. It should be. Let us know -- SekeRob

After reading all this thread at once I realize that we still don't know exactly where there is a problem to solve:
----------------------------------------- is it that the client is not asking for more WUs - is it that the host distributes some new ones but not enough - is it that there is no work available for the selected applications. acpartsman, it would help us if you could trigger a manual Update from the Projects tab and post messages from the log starting with the associated messages shown below World Community Grid update requested by user World Community Grid Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. |

Could we get a copy of the messages tab? Especially the bit on startup and on asking for workunits.
I'm curious whether it is the client not asking for workunits or the server not sending any. Also it might be interesting to get a screenshot of the work tab. Maybe your client is massively overestimating runtime, causing it to think it has a full queue. normally that should fix itself quickly though? |
