confused Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Why are they (techs) trickling the wus out so slowly? Note: that I am NOT complaining,
just wondering.

46 Valid, 59 PV and 10 IP. I have not picked any new tasks up in 6h and don't expect many more, but the fast return and 0.01 cache might bring a few resends my way.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

the ones of mine running 6.2.28 are struggling to get enough to fill their cache, whilst the 6.10.28 ones are managing to fill their cache with no need for user intervention.
I cannot confirm that. I have two 6.10.58s and one 6.2.28. They are all downloading DDDT2. Not that they will simply get "their fill" - there's plenty of "no work available", but they all get new work on an ongoing basis.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I find that periodically (not constantly) manually updating tends to poke the system into being more active in getting them. Even if it is a few hours in between manual updates, I have had much better results then the "set and forget" route. I experimented a while back with two laptops sitting side by side with no units. Manually hitting update every once in a while seemed to make the system much more active in finding results then just letting the manager do it.

Edit: I think that experiment was like an hour or two in between manual updates.

With a .6 day cache and leaving them alone- Myne boxes don't stay completely full but theve come nowhere close to running dry either.
I'm leaving them and the WCG servers alone wink

[edit] to say congrats to Mr. Bath; Well done! Also, leaving my lousy spelling up there to remind myself of the joys of new glasses.
