Runtimes of the BETA_c4cw_beta4: Intel 2.26GHz Linux64 4.93 hours My Intel 2.83GHz Linux64 flew through these in 3.83 to 3.84 hrs. That's good for the science and my points score, but means I wait for the famous badge!

On my 2.53 GHz Core 2 duo, beta 4's are running about 4 hrs 21 mins:
----------------------------------------BETA_ c4cw_ beta4_ 000258063_ 0-- system76-pc Valid 8/26/10 00:21:15 8/26/10 09:20:59 4.35 121.3 / 97.6 BETA_ c4cw_ beta4_ 000247230_ 1-- system76-pc Valid 8/26/10 00:16:15 8/26/10 08:49:23 4.39 122.2 / 97.3 I am happy to have reached Bronze in beta testing yesterday evening. I don't have a "farm" like some of you -- more like a couple of potted tomato plants on the window sill -- so it feels really good to get to bronze on beta. Edited to correct typo in GHz value [Edit 1 times, last edit by kateiacy at Aug 26, 2010 5:12:06 PM] |

You guys are lucky, I have five computers connected to WCG. Three of them update every hour and I didn't receive a single BETA WU.

I saw others members thinking the same on this matter. You will have a greater chance of getting BETA then. |

I plan to do the same thing. But it will be a little while before that happens. Of course when CEP2 comes to windows, all of us should get a major bump. Those WU are longer then other projects. |

Indeed, Linux64 makes it tough to increase the hour total significantly. Like the African Gazelle... I'm now 1/5th on the way to Ruby, expected ETA 2014 ;-) I thought I had enough WU's for gold, but the estimates were off wildly. e.g. my slowest machine - a 2.4GHz P4-mobile with 2GB of RAM running XP - estimated 47 hours+ when I went to bed last night, but finished its beta4 in 17 hours; next slowest estimated at 36 hours, but finished in 12. My Q6600 (4GB, fedora 12) also picked up 3 of those 'detached' WU's about noon UTC today, by the way... it crunched the 7 beta4's it had consistently between 4:50 and 4:55; its beta3's finished in 2:32/2:33. How's that compare with your Q6600? |
