It was too cloudy to see the launch from my location.
LOX / RP-1 engines typically don't leave much of an exhaust trail, so it's no surprise that you did not see one. If SRBs were attached, they would have left a visible smoke trail.- D |

I finally made ruby on DDDT2. Getting to gold was surprising and it's still hard to think the run of WU will last, At any rate for now, I'm shifting focus to Water and HCMD2. I want to get to gold on Water and sapphire on HCMD2. That's 60 days of crunching for Water and 110 for HCMD2. By then, CEP2 should be up and running on Windows.

My son and I just watched an Atlas V rocket launch from Vandenberg AFB. Pretty cool, since we are at Edwards AFB! We watched the launch video on the internet, went outside about a minute later and watched a big fireball climbing rapidly into the sky. This one didn't leave a trail, though. Just a fireball. There's not many reasons left to live in Southern California, but I suppose that could be one of them... Very cool to watch! I lived in Long Beach back in 65 and i did like it there but when i felt a few earthquakes i decided it was not for me--hopefully at least you have a decent job.I think if you like what you do for a living it is very important as it is half of your life.I am just a re-modeler and painter but i absolutely have considered myself fortunate to have been taught a trade and loved what i do.I have worked all around the country and enjoyed it immensely. Also for a uneducated idiot i have made a decent living.God has been good to me-- By the way Good Morning Mot the best team on the grid with the bestest folks in the universe.Or maybe just the Solar System---Still missing Mr.Bell ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 21, 2010 9:21:43 AM] |

Good Morning MOT.
---------------------------------------- Good Morning to the unfortunate non-MOT members. I have seen the film of a Atlas V launch. I would love to see one (and feel it -- from a safe distance of course). It has to be awe inspiring. I would think living in California would be great except for the big government and the earth shaking. I know it is a neat place to visit. I love it up north of San Francisco; all the way to Seattle The Muir woods are extremely crowded now but there are a lot of incredible redwoods and shoreline North of there. Beautiful. And East of there with the giant sequoias and Yosemite and other parks. Of course you want to avoid the central valley with Sacramento and Stockton. I just love the area. I hate that the pollution is killing the trees East of the valley. Which reminds me. Anyone that wants to see the Glaciers in Glacier National Park, you need to get it done. They are receding. My wife and I drove through there a couple of years ago on the “Going to the Sun Road”. One fantastic drive..if a little spooky. The great Northwest fascinates me. It is just spectacular. … well enough of the travel log. Everyone have a great day and keep our buddy Dave B in mind. |

Good morning Team. In the 60's as a child I lived in Merrit Island and Cocoa Beach, Florida. From my backyard on a canal I would watch the Saturn rockets take off as well as frequent other rocket take offs, mostly secret military missions. I have never though watched the shuttle take off and as it is winding down I need to make it back.
