I need 2-3 months more for sapphire... someone estimated 9 months of work, so there should be enough work units to last. Though we do crunch through things exponentially, as new PCs coming online get faster exponentially also.

Devised a scheme that uses progress of the task numbers in my Result Status page and the validated results from Global Statistics since resume and the time of the year and and and... I've figured that we're now at 50,1%, about 21 million tasks to work through in total if the uplinger chopper does not get recalibrated. ;P
----------------------------------------I'll be running them in a 3 way mix needing 1 more ruby equivalent to make it to sapphire. On a quad with equal supply that would make it so in 5 months. Crunch On. PS: martin64 will be on the ball tracking this and reporting progress and time left (the scientists are busy in the labs checking output) :-)

Steve, I would have thougt so... afterall, if two new projects (well, a new one and the launch of CEP2 for Windows/Macs) are going to soon be 'mudying the waters', then the currently running projects will slow down slightly...

Steve Laven,
----------------------------------------With what we know of this project at this time I think you have at least 6 months to reach your target. Whether it's OK for you or not depends on your daily numbers (that we don't know). ![]() |

I am very happy this project is continuing. It is a very important cause.
----------------------------------------badge padding for the 10 year, and a very worthwhile project Very true. I had stopped at 7 years in April to allow other crunchers to get their coveted badges. I will resume now just to reach the 10 years mark. Due to the large numbers of WU's available I won't deprive anybody of their badge I suppose. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Hypernova at Aug 26, 2010 11:34:45 AM] |

I used to look at Sekerob's progress chart for this information (the one with all projects on) but this seems to have been deleted now. ![]() |

How do you work out when the project will end? Is there a thread I have missed? I think I have posted the reasoning somewhere in the HFCC forum when the new targets have arrived. The first part of this project (before the interrupt) has processed 3 targets. The scientists have announced that they will submit work for three additional targets. Although they may not be exactly of the same complexity (maybe more, maybe less) you can expect these new targets to require about the same time to process as the first three. Look at the project's stats page to figure it yourself. |

According my progress-meter we're at about 10% of targets 4-6 after running these for 33 days, validating 2.15 million results and my host showing the first million compounds having gone out the feeder of the prox. 2.95 million per target. This week some s2 target 3 work was slipped in as TimAndHedy attentively observed, so who knows what more's in store. The pace has slowed a bit with the additional C4CW project having come on-line... schools-out is drawing to an end, so a rebound is expected.

I am at 8.5 or so years and I too planned on shooting for 10 year mark but with the new projects, have backked of for the time being. As it appears that CEP-2 is a realitively short project and with Windows launch in the future I will really have to hoof it once the Windows version comes out or be left short of saphire.
