PohSoon makes a big 1/2 Million
----------------------------------------marysduby makes a cool 1/4 Million bobgctsu makes it to the 6 digit club as it's 47th Member and MOT posts up 23 Million!!!! I think that's a great daily update. Congratulations, pats on backs and group hugs all round I think are in order. Anyone picked up a bunch of larger Work Unit's or I am just being unlucky? Did you know? We have 10% of the WCG's top 100 crunchers for yesterday on board the Good Ship MOT. After many years in a maths class doing trigonometry, calculus and algebra I make that 10.00000000 WCG members which as you can only sign up in integer values must be 10 Hi DAJ to further assist in your forthcoming crunching addition I would like to recommend the ASUS A7N8X-400VM (again Crew I'm sorry - honestly I don't have shares in either ASUS, NVIDIA or AMD). This is a Micro ATX Motherboard with a NVIDIA NF2 Chipset providing on board GF4MX Graphics, on board 100Mbit Ethernet, on on board sound which retails in the UK for less than £50 (I got my last one a a B-Grade for £18) So with a value for money Sempron (formerly called an Athlon XP) a stick of memory and a hard drive as small as 1 GB, a cheap case and using Remote Desktop or VNC Viewer you have ~ another 600 points per day. You just have to pay your subs to Mr Gates. Buckshot did you get anywhere with the idea of mounting them on a piece of 5 Ply? The other Good News for the day is IT'S FRIDAY - Whoohoo. I like these 4 day day weeks Must dash. Don't go switching off Dave ![]() |

No David, I did not get anywhere with doing it. I have had so many things on my plate that the only thing I did do was to strip the opsys off of a couple of machines and send them to Marysduby for use here; I think he has them running WCG stuff again but I have not heard.
----------------------------------------The rest of the farm remains the same. Probably will not change till the summer is over and then I plan on getting a dual-core machine of some sort. I am watching developments and prices. They really do value those puppies. Speaking of puppies, that one on the team home page was great; that face just grabs you doesn't it? That CPU farm idea is really nice and I would like to do it (I am sure it will work) but I seem to not have the time to do much these days. The Lunix version of the agent might (so I hear) make this easier. They are working on it and think they will have it out before too long. |

I know what you mean. Each weekend I am always going to deploy some new great feature on the web site as I fully intend to this weekend as I sit here at the keyboard today.
----------------------------------------Somehow though before you know it there's always a myriad of other things you have to do and then I find myself back in my car on the M25 in a huge traffic jam it's Monday and I'm on my way back to work again thinking how did I get here? One day one day I'll achieve something useful ![]() Dave (having a fledgling mid life crisis) We don't seem to be doing too bad a job just doing what we are doing though ![]() ![]() |

Gerald,
Do not be moddest, we are just a bunch of every-day guys and girls doing what we think is right. And... on the same side we try to have some fun, behaving like pre-adults, poking each other, supporting people all over the world, meeting different cultures, facing new points off view in other words trying to enrich ourselfs. We from MOT seem to be a special breed, I think, and you're one of us. Personally I like the MOT/WCG because it gives me the a way of clearing my head of the everyday worries of going to work, fixing all broken thinks like byciles, doors, computers, animal housings, a.s.o. and be a good husband and father on the same side.... nothing compaired to your every day worries. Your humble team mate |
